On any given day any players at that caliber can beat anyone you think Ohearn saw Cink coming.

Honestly I do not think the match was as important to Tiger as it was to Weir or he would have never hit driver on 18.

Just the same this should give Mike Weir some confidence.

Plus this win should give the US some confidence for the next Ryder Cup. I just hope that Paul Azinger learned something about being a Captain, watching Jack.

He kept this team loose , did not over analyze anything and they had a good time.

My hat is off to the Bear. :) :drinks:

Two things I found interesting from the Presidents Cup.

I thought it was hilarius when Wood Austin put the mask on. He said it was Barbara Nicklaus who bought it , and him and ask him to do it.

Tiger refused to talk when his match was over.

Was he pissed because he lost or just leaving the stage for Weir. Just the same you want to know how Tiger felt about it you have to read his mind. Maybe he will talk at the press conference.

I for one think its his right if he does not want too.

The match between Weir and Tiger was one of the best I've ever seen. I don't think Tiger wanted it as badly as Weir, but he did make Weir work hard for it. It was just a fantastic match, and great to see Weir not fold under the pressure.

Seriously based on his play of late Weir played over his head all week. I thought he was folding then he came back.

It almost felt like Tiger hit it in the water on purpose to let the local win. Then again I just know Tiger would not do that.

I know what you're saying. I doubt 100% that Tiger hit in the water on purpose. But if this was a stroke play event, or if the Woods/Weir match was to decide the President's Cup, I don't think he would have hit driver on such a tight hole. Great match either way, though.

What makes me guess TMgolf is from Canada and Steven is the President of Tigers fan club.

Weir played as well all week as he did all year, in several years in fact. Tiger had his B game all week and had his C game Sunday.

Tiger was smiling to much to play Tiger golf.

Bottom line is he never hits driver off that tee if he has to win. At the same time Weir stepped up on his home turf.

As for will we see more really good golf from Mike Weir? I seriously doubt it but who knows.

Just FYI, I'm actually from Australia.

The Weir/Woods match was awesome - Mike certainly outplayed Tiger on the front nine, and then came up with the goods when it counted down the stretch. Overall, he had a phenomenal week.

I just hope you Americans can deal with the fact that Tiger simply got beat by a better player on the day on Sunday.

Mike hit Driver on 18 & didn't find the water...too bad TW. Gotta laugh at US TV coverage at times...Dan Hicks...here comes the Tiger Freight Train, or remember back in the 99 PGA Mike & Tiger were paired together...Mike shot 80 to Tigers 71...blah blah blah. You didn't hear them tell you that Royal Montreal is where Tiger missed his first cut as a pro in the 2001 Canadian Open. Geez...and they never remind anyone that Tiger shot 81 at Carnoustie in the 99 Open. Everyone has to always seem inferior to the great TW!! Hey Rog...whatta ya think of that HUH?

It was a great match...no matter what the outcome was!!!

TM well at least I was right on which side you were rooting for.

Seriously no one knows how bad Tiger did or did not want this. I think the whole world knows how bad Weir did.

Bottom line Tiger did not bring his A stuff and Weir did.

Most of the time I am thrilled when TW looses. It just bugs me that people are making a bigger deal out of this match than it was. I mean he won one up.

Honestly I do not think the match was as important to Tiger as it was to Weir or he would have never hit driver on 18.

Gee...yeah, I guess he should have laid back so he could have been first to hit into the green to put the pressure on Mike, after Mike had already bombed his drive...whatever.

Tiger refused to talk when his match was over.

Was he pissed because he lost or just leaving the stage for Weir.

Boohoo...I lost & I don't want to talk. If we are to believe all the TV commentators, Tiger's such a fierce competitor...then I'd say he was pissed he lost. He could've at least done a quick interview, saying Weirsy clipped him today, and it was a good match. Thanking the event organizers, both Captains, Teammates & the Internationals for a least making it interesting for the better part of Sunday. Leaving the stage open for Weir...I think TW wanted to be on that stage...not ohhh, I want to go cheer on my teammates even though it was clear after Saturday we had this thing locked up.

How can you say Mike played over his head this week? Do you know Mike personally? I dought it. Just because he beat the US's beloved Tiger, you think he played over his head. He is a Major Champion as I'm sure you know. Mike sure did make Gary Player look like a genious for making him a captains pick. #1 point getter for the Internationals. I believe a good week of putting ( any week ) will produce a strong player. All these guys can hit the ball like nobody's business, but combine that with a bunch of 1 putts...and you have a winner.

Hit it in the water on purpose? I DOUGHT IT. I think Tiger was being Tiger...he just saw Mike hit a solid tee shot with his Driver, and wanted to bomb one of his own past him to show his superiority. Nice try there T.

To say Tiger had his C game on Sunday is an insult to all GolfWRX members intellect. Not to mention demeaning to Mike Weir. "Wow...that Tiger is something else...I'm sure glad he had his C game today, otherwise I would have never been able to beat him 1 UP." :)

HaHa...smiling too much to play " Tiger Golf " that's funny. Get real.

Tiger, for the most part...was maybe just a bit off with his putting. His speed looked good, maybe just over reading them a bit. I guess not making enough putts = C Game.

Too bad he didn't do an interview...then we possibly could have found out...exactly why he chose to hit Driver on 18...I guess we'll never know.

More good golf from Mike...sure why not. He's had injuries the last couple years, and has gone through a swing change. Like I said, all these guys can hit the ball...it's the shortgame & flatstick that produce champions.

Most of the time I am thrilled when TW looses. It just bugs me that people are making a bigger deal out of this match than it was. I mean he won one up.

How many people can say they've beaten Tiger Woods? Not too many for sure. 1 Up, 5&4, 2&1...all numbers...regardless a WIN is a WIN...get over it. This was good for the Presidents Cup. The Internationals just need to win a couple of these things, so it's not so lopsided. Just the same as the US seriously need a win in the Ryder Cup.

That is just plain ignorant...Why would Tiger be so mad that he would not want to talk to the media after losing a meaningless match against Weir??? He was very classy after the match and probably wanted to leave the stag to the hometown hero...If he was so angry as you would imply, then why was he joking and having fun watching the matches??? Just plain Ignorance! You are a HATER!

" You are seriously ignorant"...Yeah I am sure that was what the worlds # 1 player was thinking>>>HMMM let's make sure to hit driver by this 4foot11 midget??? Tiger is one of the more down to earth, genuine guys on the PGA TOUR. I know that Wier is a gentleman but please. I suppose using your DUMB logic Tiger felt inferior to Wier's '07 PGA TOUR SEASON. SCOREBOARD for TIGER AND THE USA.

Congrats to Weir on the win but please there was nothing riding on this. The International Team didn't even show up for the event. To make this like there was anything special about this win is stupid. Weir is a good guy but no better than top 30 player in the world.

First off it is not my intention to insult anyone on this board. I simply think that when the 47th player in the world beats number 1 its a bit of a fluke.

Yes I am aware Weir won a major he has actually won seven times in his 15 year career three of them the year he won the major and once since then. Trust me thats a career for manyt players, one to be proud of.

At the same time the only reason he was chosen to be on the Presidents Cup was because of where he is from. More deserving players got to sit home because of it. The bonus was he came through big when given the opportunity and I congratulate him for that.

It was never my intention to insult Canada or Mike Weir , all I was saying is that this match did not mean as much to Tiger as it did to Mike Weir I am entitled to have that opinion.

There was plenty riding on that match for Canadian supporters.

And Weir's been number 3 in the world before by the way. All week he played like a top 5 player - plenty of birdies and only ONE bogey. Um, that's pretty damn impressive, especially under big time pressure.

I think the little Canadian is back in a big way.

I wasn't even going to reply to your ridiculous remarks, but calling me IGNORANT & a HATER with DUMB LOGIC...come on, buddy you have got to do a bit better than that. Haven't you ever seen Tiger refuse an interview before? He done it quite a few times, when he hasn't played his best. Why should he be exempt from a quick post round interview? I can't, in recent memory recall any other golfer refusing to do an interview. Sure I think Tiger & Mike are close companions on the golf course, and I think Tiger has a great amount of respect for Mike. I've seen him talk about Mike before, calling him Weirsy...so I would think he is very comfortable golfing with Mike. Yes, the congratulatory hug was nice, but a few kind words about the match, and the event in general would have been nice. Leaving the stage open for Mike...well geez thanks, but Mike was pretty much center stage all week, if you hadn't noticed. As for you saying I'm a HATER, well that couldn't be further from the truth. Truth be told, I'm not the biggest Mike Weir fan in Canada. There are many more in CANADA fanatic about Mike than I, but I do whole heartedly support him, for sure. As for Tiger...Incredible!! I don't know what else can be said about Tiger that hasn't been said a thousand times. He is the best! We are all fortunate to be witnessing such a talent...in our lifetime. I'm not sure how old you are, but Jack was pretty much finished with his career when I became interested in golf. I want to see him pass Jack's records, which no doubt I'm sure he will do. I don't hate any golfer. What these guys can do on the golf course...I have nothing but respect for. Now, did I call Tiger any names? NO. You on the other hand call Mike a "MIDGET". I don't even think that is politically correct, I believe they refer to themselves as little people, of which Mike is neither. Now for what you call my DUMB LOGIC? Well you got me there. My logic must be dumb...it got you to reply to it! This is the correct spelling of Mike's last name...now you got it once out of three times. It's WEIR...not WIER...I know what they said in school...I before E except after C. Talk about DUMB LOGIC.
