Fujikura Pro 73 .... (vs Kai'li 70)

I've been searching around for some info on this shaft and not managed to come up with much.

I've seen it described as similar to the Blueboard in profile/feel but some say mid/low launch others mid/high, also read that it plays soft to flex? I know that it obviously varies from person to person but has anybody had any direct experience in relation to a Kai'li?

I managed to pick one up for a good deal and I'm looking to put it in a 3 wood. I currently play Kai'li 70x tipped 0.5" so I was trying to work out what the best plan of action is before I install it.

I've used it in a M3 FW and it's really nice. I haven't played the kaili but it definitely plays a lot like the original blueboard. You get a really good mid/mid flight and it's stable. Compared to the S+ blueboard, it's more stable IMO (those played soft to flex IMO). Compared to the Tensei Pro Blue, it's less smooth and launches higher with a little more spin. It also plays a lot like the Aldila Tour Blue.

If it's slightly higher launch, might take abit more to see if it will tighten it up...

I believe the Fuji is CB'ed. I can't tell if Kai'li is or not... It's more CB'ed than UST Proforce, but the UST could just be tip heavy.

Mine is tipped 1/2" and it doesn't feel loose at all. It's not boardy but it's not loose at all. 1/2" gives me a perfect flight for a fw.

I'd buy a swing weight scale. If you build clubs it's super important.

My LTD with Kai'li at 43.5'' (cutting it down soon) was about D5, and the Proforce 75X was D7. Proforce only weighed like 3g more than Kai'li so it pretty much came down to balance point. Kai'li may not be CB'ed... The proforce could just have a balance point slightly closer to the tip.

I've never found CB shafts to make massive difference. As long as SW is within 2 points or so, I can't usually tell the difference. Static weight and proper length is much more critical for me.

Happy doing my own swing weights and more than ok with abit of lead tape but just wondering out loud really. Prefer to have to add head weight than more counterbalancing or having a super head-heavy club.

Some info on my results with this shaft if anybody is looking for more feedback!!

Generally very positive results. 73X fitted into a Adam Tight Lies 2 16 degree head played at 42 inches (aiming for a 4+ wood type club), I tipped the shaft 0.5" where as Fujikura recommend not tipping on driver or 3 wood and 1" on 5 wood. I have found Fuji shafts to play abit tip weak in fairway woods before hence tipping and I think I got this one just right. It would suggest it may play slightly weak to flex to some lower launch shafts but very similar to the Kai'li. Slightly heavier feel than the Kai'li (78 vs 71 grams) but a slightly softer middle gave me a ever so slightly higher launch and more feel (as in kick). The Kai'li felt slightly smoother with a more consistent flex over the entire shaft length from my perspective and launched a hair lower than the Fuji Pro. Pro is probably more similar to a traditional Blueboard feel and as the Kai'li was known to launch a little lower than it's predecessors. Dispersion was similar (good) with both.

Overall an excellent shaft and I will probably look to add one to my 5 wood too. Struggling to find a 83X for decent money though so may try the 73X again, maybe not ideal but at a heavy 70~ gram shaft at 78g it will probably work fine.
