wonderful ! 3/4 of my golf attire revolves around untucked. After 9 holes half my tucked in polo is hangin' over mt belt line anyway

Kind of strange, but I think it looks fine when worn with the shorts but awful when worn with long pants. With the shorts it looks casual and fun, with the pants it just looks a little try-hard and not very professional.

Fine with me. I wear Adidas Tiro soccer pants when I golf, shirt untucked. Unless it’s a private course or one with a dress code. Then I tuck, wear collars and even shave!

 

Last time I checked golf was an athletic endeavor. Why should I dress like it’s at a casual Friday at a law firm?

Awesome shirt to wear with shorts at a public course. That being said I don’t mind him wearing it on tour on occasion I mean a Torrey is a public course right?

 

I like it better than his monochrome orange outfits. It’s a MUCH better look than those Nike blade collars that might be the worst golf fashion of all time.

Joggers were dreadful. The proper untucked shirt looks nice in the right situation.

Pretty hard not to beat any one of the shirts he wore.

 

I like Rickie's new shirt. Im older and have ended up playing more muni courses in the last couple years with old friends. We walk and have a few beers just to get out of the house and away from kids/wife. I have worn tshirts and hat backwards. I could see myself getting one of these shirts.

I guess at this point we have to assume that the PGA TOUR dress code does not include that your shirt must be tucked in at all times. That surprises me. But, it also surprised me when they allowed the "blade" collar to count as a collar.

I think it is a marketing ploy and it is working. This gear was probably in production for months with the expectation that RF would be playing in Hawaii, hence the name of the line.

I do remember when he first wore one of these "untucked" in Hawaii they said it was a special circumstance. I guess with the money Puma spends they have some latitude for a "dress code exemption."

 

There are certainly a lot of places where the dress code is lax or non-existent. Not particularly the types of courses I seek out to play, but they do exist. I've always enjoyed a quick walk around a muni, but typically the ones that still enforce dress code are also more likely to have some modicum of course maintenance in place.

 

I know some guys who will turn their hat around forward or tuck their shirt in while in the pro shop and then pull it out again on the 2nd or 3rd hole. Reminds me of kids I knew that went to prep schools with uniforms that were always trying to find some way to stand out from the crowd. To each their own, just not my thing.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm still rocking my joggers on the course, every once in a while. They're super comfortable, and give me a different look, which I like. I'm all for someone wearing whatever they want to play in, and whatever they feel they play best in, as it doesn't effect my game. To each their own. And, in regards to Rickie's shirt, I actually like the look of it, but would have to try it out, myself, to see how comfortable it would be to play in. In general, I like a lot of the non-traditional styles/fashion trends that Rickie wears (joggers, high-top golf shoes, etc), and am happy to see players expand the horizons of golf apparel, even if it's Phil's M+M shirts, which I didn't like the look of.

i have the aloha shirt from last year. its beyond comfortable. i actually do wear it to the beach because it provides some sun protection (UPF 40) and is super comfy. i havent worn it on the course yet but probably will this summer, especially if its super hot out. but to be fair im a muni guy and i never tuck in my shirt when I play, unless i'm a guest at a club.

Of course. Rickie is used by puma as an endorser to reach the (and I hate these generational terms) "millennial" demagraphic for fashion sales.
