...took his 4 iron out of his bag this winter. Using a DI at 24* and even thinking of dropping his 5 iron and adding...no not a chipper!!! But a 50,54,58 wedge setup. He feels like he’s entering The Old Man golf phase. This is all a bit upsetting to consider for Jack Pearsall.

 

He knew something was up when he was arguing during the SB that Bob Seger was not irrelevant music for mumbling codgers...

That SLDR driver is notoriously difficult to hit, You should seriously consider the GX7 driver (swing it like a 7-iron, smash it like a driver). I'm surprised that it hasn't yet been reviewed on Golf WRX.

I totally get what you’re saying. For someone who looks at this game and life in general as a romantic notion, one where inanimate objects get souls and appeasal of the golf gods is necessary , selling your dignity eats at you. The struggles when hickory went away must have been epic. How could they not have felt themselves cheap traitors if they went to steel?

Jack, there's no need to be worried. Get your self a 5 hybrid/utility/DI and be done with it. I carry a 5 hybrid at 26° and get it out there no problem.

Go for it. This game is hard enough, so let's make it easier for ourselves.
