UST has been advertising this LIN-Q shaft on instagram but won’t respond about any info on it. Anyone have any info, I hope UST can make a come back with a amazing shaft this year

Make a comeback? They brought back the V2s last year. Recoils are always selling. The Attas lines are so good...

They have actually responded to some Instagram questions saying it’s currently a tour only shaft that is going thru tour testing right now as a prototype and will he out at retail later this year.

It’s no different than any other oem that does tour testing. They don’t give specs because things may change from tour testing to release

Correction, UST released new graphics for the Proforce V2 (original version was never discontinued, HL version had been though).

I don't think anyone is implying that UST is on the verge of non-existence (like Matrix was last year), but they definitely have not been pushing the needle like MRC/Aldila or TT has been in the past few years (or like UST was 10 years ago).

I would suggest OP's comment " I hope UST can make a come back with a amazing shaft this year" implies that.

I think they have been making great shafts for years. You are right, not so involved in multiple shaft releases each year.

I think their main issue is access. They arent offered as TM or Callaway's stock options...maybe dont get as much consideration.

Regardless...i know nothing of the LInQ

The attas coool, 10 year anniversary attas, the various elements shafts that have been out the last 3 years, Lin-q coming, I believe they announced a counter balanced v2 coming soon.

Recoil hybrid and utility shafts. Various new weights and designs in the recoil iron shafts and the wedge protos that came out in 2016.

Imo they never faded so need for a comeback and they have been doing things just not getting the attention because they have stayed primarily after market thru tspc facilities

Lucky enough to be playing the gunmetal Lin-Q. All I can say is the purple is a mid launch/mid spin.. Gunmetal is low launch/ low spin. Counter balanced and feel incredible. I just put the tz6 yesterday in my m5 so disregard that shaft... but when testing the m5 with an elements chrome shaft vs the Hogan driver and Lin-Q my numbers were....

M5/elements... 161 ball speed, 11.5 launch, avg. 3100 spin, 264 carry

Hogan/Lin-Q... 162 ball speed, 11.8 launch, avg. 2350 spin, 280 carry

Have the purple definitely enjoy the kick and profile of the LINQ.. I get longer drives with the Helium and V2 but Ill give a few yards to be in the fairways majority of the time.. Spin is mid/high for me.

Love the graphics though because that cuts strokes ;)

Ive had the gunmetal version in the driver now for 2 months and now have one for my 3w... the shaft is incredible!! what stands out to me more than anything is how neutral the flight is. Normally I have a baby fade with driver and 3w...since gaming this shaft the ball just stays dead straight. I hit four 3 woods off the tee last round just b/c I wanted to hit it and split the fairway each time. With this shaft its honestly just aim and swing. Goes dead straight!

its a low/low profile but doesnt feel stout imo. Its definitely stable, but quite smooth feeling.

How did you get your hands on these? I’m waiting for them to come to retail to grab one for the driver

won an all expenses paid trip through UST Mamiya and partnered with Ben Hogan. played 36 holes but the main thing was a driver fitting. UST had all their shaft offerings there and on the trackman I fit in to the Lin-Q, so got a hogan driver with the Lin-Q. Then myself and the other guy who won the trip played a UST rep and his partner. If we beat them after 18 holes we won a fairway wood also with matching shaft. The hogan driver is incredible, the fairway sucked so I put it in my m6

Im sure he was trying to keep details hush hush but said he doesn't even know if it will become retail...Id have to believe it will tho because the performance on these are incredible!! The UST rep was playing the purple Lin-Q

Is anyone still playing the LINQ shaft? I'm getting one for my SIM based on a pro's recommendation and wanted to know how others are finding it? UST have always made great shafts and it lead me to Accra as a brand I trust.

Got to hit the purple in a recent SIM fitting. It was probably the best feeling shaft I got to hit all day but it didn’t help with my miss to the left (ended up with the smoke green) would love to try the gunmetal version. Hopefully we can get a few more reviews on here when things get back to normal

I tried a 6F4 purple in my TS3 driver and it felt really light vs my Diamana BF 60. Dispersion wasn't very good prob for that reason. I ended up sticking it in my 3 wood and wow absolutely love it!! Crushing my 3 wood now and feels incredible.

I am now contemplating trying the gun metal version in my driver seems more stable a a bit heavier.

Anyone having success with the gunmetal version?

Been using the Gunmetal 7F5 since my Accra RPG was stolen, and it's been amazing. Not as stable as RPG, but what is? It's like a really, really smooth Whiteboard/Graphite Design AD DI with an extra gear. I've picked up my average distance off the tee without changing anything else. It'll go into my backup G400 unless my replacement RPG isn't the unicorn combo I remember it to be.

UST Mamiyas website isn't very helpful, I can't find the profile of this shaft or the Lin-Q purple anywhere. Golfshaftreviews doesn't have it either. If UST would provide more information on the website they'd probably move more of these.

I don't see the profile there unless I'm missing something. I'm talking about some kind of graphic or specs showing the design of the shaft. Is it mid-soft, tip stiff, etc.

Maybe it's just me, I generally know what sort of profiles I like and don't really want to buy anything without seeing the profile.

I wish UST Mamiya would make more information available!  I have always been a UST Mamiya fan.  Back when almost all manufacturers were still sticking "made-for" shafts in their retail offerings, the V2 was the quintessential upgrade shaft.  I had a Ping G25 4 wood with a VTS Red 7 Stiff that was the longest running club in my bag until this year.

I had been playing the ATTAS Coool 6S shaft in my G400 Max 10.5 as well.  However, I recently stuck a UST Quantum Purple Stiff in a 9 degree G400 Max and I have been loving it.  I call it my poor man's autoflex.  I prefer the higher torque in my shaft because I like a smooth shaft and I feel like it helps me avoid the fade, but it still remains a very stable shaft.

Driver: Ping G430 10k, Speeder NX Violet

Wood: Ping G440, Ventus Red

Irons: Ping i530, Dynamic Gold Mid 100

Wedges; Ping Glide 4.0, Bunkr

I put the linq purple extra stiff in my sim2 driver I love the feel of the shaft. The little extra launch and spin seem to be helping my ball flight  I have not been on a simulator but I’m definitely happy with the results. I also put the purple extra stiff in my sim ti 3 wood and I am just as impressed.  I talked to Steve at ust mamiya and he was a big help

This is exactly how I feel about my gunmetal driver shaft. It feels so good. I have the Blue in my three wood too. I had the ADBB, but made the move to this and like the feel in the handle much more.

The more I play with this shaft the more I love the feel and performance. It has provided unreal consistency with timing and the feel is also great. Just played 72 holes in a day at sand valley and this shaft never let me down.

Not sure which LINQ thread to bump but I found this one.

I'm loving the LINQ Red right now. Pretty much a perfect match to the ventus red. I have the TSPX in my 3w and a tour issue 80g non-TSPX in 7w.

Nice high ball flights with moderate spin and tons of feel that dont go left.
