Putting mirror, any users?, helpful tips?

I recently purchased a putting mirror to practice with indoors while waiting for spring to arrive. First thing I’ve noticed is how much closer I am to the ball at address, also the ball position is a lot further back in my stance. I’m about 5’11” and use a 35” inch putter, I could easily switch to a 33” now with the new setup position. Anybody made huge changes since acquiring a mirror ,and do you think it was a beneficial aid or a wise decision to change?

I recently got the PuttOut mirror, to go along with the ramp and the putting mat. I've noticed that I am a little more upright and closer to the ball in order to get my eyes just inside the ball. Ball position seems the same - centered to slightly forward. I'm 6' and use a 34" putter that is 3* upright. I like the mirror a lot - it helps me get into a setup position where it feels like all I need to do is rock my shoulders.

I did the same. I have used Eyeline mirrors before and consistently get my eyes above the ball. Got confirmation from a SAM fitting the other day.

Unfortunately, I hate the gate attachments and that little bridge. It just seems to mess me up. Like all I can think about it missing the gates and getting the ball under that bridge, I then totally forget the goal is to hit the ball.

I moved the bridge to two feet away from the mirror. I don't focus on it as much and rarely hit it now. I like the gate attachments - I have both on the "5" setting and don't hit them either. I was laughing the other night - I got in a good rhythm and put 4 in a row into the little hole on the PuttOut ramp from 6 feet away.

One thing that's important to realize is that the PuttOut mat is marked a bit sloppily - I had to get out a laser level to get a straight line from the ball to the center of the ramp, and it showed me the markings were a little off and not centered perfectly. After making the adjustment I was much more consistent.

I have the Eyeline one. I think it was a good purchase.

I'm starting to wonder about any of the golf training aids these days. Some force you into a position and thus you make these "un-natural" moves to fit the device. Some prevent you from doing the "bad" thing. I think I like the ones that force you into the right move without totally preventing the wrong move...i.e. it makes you think about what you are doing and helps ingrain a good move.

For example, I bought one of those arm band things to keep my forearms together, and I hit the ball great while wearing it...but I could almost feel my muscles that want me to separate my forearms strengthening, and I eventually decided that was probably a bad thing and stopped using it.

Back to the Eyeline...I make putts left and right when I use it, so it must work. And I can tell that my path gets very straight, which is generally good. I had stopped using it because it seemed a little pointless to make putts all of the time with it, but lately I'm thinking it is a pretty good tool to force me into a straighter path and thus am probably going to start using it again!!!
