Looking for Black AP2 pics after some use please!!!

I have realized that the Ap2 are not replaceable. They are just the best iron for my game. But I do have an hankering for some new irons.

Any pics of the Black AP2 after some usage??

The black PVD finish will wear out guaranteed. Cobra's black irons seem to be the only OEM that has the most durable finish since the color is embedded or mixed in the metal, not simply coated on.

I have the AP3 in black and played 3 rounds and nothing so far. Eventually they will wear but if you minimize your driving range on mats will help. The clubs take a beating when hitting on driving range mats. They have a beautiful finish, just need to clean them after each shot.

Yes. I could be wrong that I think they're the only ones that do it this way.

The Maltby Dbm forged iron was the first to have the imbedded finish:

conditions. They are a great finish, PVD finishes wear very quickly and look terrible.

 

From Golfworks:

"DBM" Diamonized Black Metal finish is a chemically implanted finish that is more wear resistant, corrosion resistant and scratch resistant than any carbon steel finish currently available.

DBM finish increases surface hardness without affecting the feel and actually enhances the adjustability aspects of the 1035 carbon steel.

The Titleist’s will not wear anywhere near as well as the Malty’s or Cobras. You will for sure have wear after range sessions.

They look amazing in person new. They look like they are gonna wear, but I think they would look pretty cool wearing the black off. My 2 cents

Check on ebay, I just saw some pics today. Considering that they were released some months ago, pretty awful I would say

Yeah, as everyone had thought, they are looking rough. Aside from the cost cutting measure, not sure why they didn't use the same finishing process as Cobra does for their black finishes.

I am not sure what you are expecting. You are hitting a plastic ball at 100mph all while going through Little Rock’s, sand , dirt , grass and who knows what else. No finish holds up
