Anyone else shafted by changed Masters last round TV schedule?

I rarely watch golf live. I'm busy weekend days so I DVR then FF through commercials and commentator blathering. I set to record Sat. and Sun. (don't get the Golf Channel) and go about my business. Watched some good golf Sat. evening looking forward to watching the 4th round action. I settle in to watch some Masters Sun. evening and start the DVR. I am presented with Tiger pitching on to 18 with a 2 shot lead. Well, that was fun. Apparently Dish Network didn't get the memo so my recording started at the original time which was 10 minutes from the end.

 

Seems this happens (something goes wrong, scheduling, recording issues, someone blurts out the winner) a lot with important or exciting tournaments. I must deserve this somehow. I remember when Sergio won I was recording it Sun. I was on the tee box of a PAR 5 near a road. Some kid in a truck going by yells, "Sergio won it!". Thanks.

Can’t really blame anybody but the tv operator I’m afraid. Every time I try to double dip I get screwed too. So I know how it feels. But in the end. It’s my fault.

I have Dish and as I knew the start time and the channel I just recorded everything on that channel. Talk show, news whatever. Turns out I didn’t need to as when I recorded the Masters series it started at the right time.

I played golf Saturday afternoon and missed all the action at Augusta that day. However, as a true GolfWRXer, I checked the tee times to see who Tiger was paired with and what time they were going off. 9:20 am tee time for the last group clued me in that I should manually set the DVR before heading out to church. I got home and started to watch live action as Tiger, Molinari and Finau were on 12. I'm not going to give you any grief for not knowing they had changed to starting in the morning for the first time ever due to bad weather in the forecast, but I have a feeling you might get lambasted.

If its any consolation the final round is still available on the Masters app.

I have youtubetv and they knew the times had changed and adjusted my recording accordingly. You should complain to dish. They need to get with the times. Bush league.

I went skiing thinking I would watch the end in the lodge. When I came in for lunch I knew I was hosed. I watched about 10 shots total over the 5 days.

During Saturdays telecast they announced a few times that they would start early Sunday. I also recorded all the shows that we're scheduled during that time.

 

No biggie but I am sure there were a lot of people who didn't watch all of Saturdays broadcast that were caught by surprise on Sunday.

Just had to turn to CBS Sports Network and all 5 hours of the broadcast were replayed Sunday evening.

 

Recording on Dish or Direct is pretty easy if something unexpected happens, just like above, you record for the time period on the schedule - not Dish's fault.

CBSSN channel 158 for evening replay pretty much every evening during the event. No live Golf Channel coverage of the Masters as those rights belong to CBS.

I don’t think the networks like the switch either but they don’t control the weather.

woke up 3am 1st 3 days to watch till the end which was fine..

fell asleep after Tiger's hole no 5 on the final day and woke up at 3am when all was done..!!

I was about to post similar. Not sure what the OP's lack of Golf Channel had to do with anything as it was CBS on the weekend and ESPN the first two days.

Just pays to pay attention to schedule changes and check your records times manually.

Exactly what I did, looked at the DISH program guide, recorded all the normal broadcast stuff from 8am until 2pm. I had to record roughly 7 different programs because the 30min morning shows were the only option Saturday evening for Sunday's shceduling at the time.

Thankfully I have DirectNow....a cheap@ss streaming service with a weak@ss dvr mode. I can’t pause live action and I don’t trust the record feature. So I stayed home from church and watched the whole thing live. A very entertaining Masters for once.

i also have YTTV hit record it asked if i wanted to record the whole series once i clicked record for the second round.

 

went up a few bucks from the 40 i was paying i think they added like 5 more channels. now at 47 and change. records everything prefect. best part is fast forwarding through MOST popular tv shows that you missed with just the search function.

Masters Sunday is the type of day you want to give complete devotion to. If you short change that things like this can happen. I get how some have to work on Sundays which is completely understandable as well as religious obligations. But last Sunday I went to the Church of Tiger Woods and I was set free...lol...jk...umm maybe not kidding.

I was playing Sunday morning and didn't trust the schedule guides to pick up the change, so just set a manual recording for CBS from 9 am to 3 pm.

I like watching grainy golf - it takes me back to my youth when we had only one TV and my dad had the remote.

It was a time when they only showed 16 thru18 of the Masters - when men were men.

It was a time when TAB was fun to drink - before the controversy.

It was time when people respected PBA bowlers.

It was time when Chris Everett was hot, and before her time with Greg Norman.

I had a 1pm (UK) tee time on Carnoustie Championship, so I got screwed very "marginally". Recorded the whole thing and watched it back over takeaway fish and chips.

The only way I was really shafted was that rather than getting two complete days of vegging out and ignoring everyone in my household I only got 1 1/2. I mowed the dang yard Sunday afternoon! That’s gotta he a first on masters Sunday! That’s how I feel shafted. At least the blue angels were preforming during my yard mowing. That was pretty cool.

I thought the Masters tournament committee did well in making sure the rescheduled tee times were going to be. It was on the Masters website and app. as well as broadcast on CBS during Saturday's coverage. I had no problem knowing what time the first tee shots and what the groupings were going to be. As a result, I like many millions of people, watched the Masters in its entirety. I even watched the first couple hours on the Masters app on my phone.

Why do people always try to blame others for their f-ups? Whoever is even a casual golf fans should've known the time change for Sunday. Hell, even my buddy who isn't a golf fan texted me the time change before I heard about it.

Once I knew about it, I checked my recordings to make sure they were updated.

Dish TV and Direct TV have manual record modes do you can record a certain channel for a specified length of time.

If you screwed it up, it your own fault.

LOL, that almost makes my whole Sunday seem pretty irrelevant!

Didn't they replay the round right after it ended? Anytime you rely on recording you risk disaster. Especially with live sports.
