Webb Simpson will do well. Finau, if he keeps it under control. De Shampoo, if he avoids the big number. Koepka always focussed at Majors. Tiger, I don't think so. One or two errant shots will keep him out of contention.

Who i'm rooting for? Tiger or Rory. Tiger because I want to see him get the single season grand slam, another major and one step closer to the record. Rory because there's a free Taylormade M6 headed my way if so, lol.

 

Outside of those two, I don't really care who wins. Show me some good golf. That's all I ask.

I agree, was checking to see if anyone said much about the cool weather and his back. I’d like to see Tiger win, we will see if his back doesn’t get too stiff in the cooler temps especially early in the week.

Darkhorse: Adam Scott

 

The course is setup for effortless, accurate distance. Koepka fits the mold to get around a place like this as good or better than anyone. Tiger 2.0 is not a great fit for Bethpage. He doesn't have the driving game to compete for a win this week. His iron play will keep him in it. He just needs to save his health for Pebble, as that is going to be a perfect fit for him. Adam Scott played really well at Augusta and can be a guy who sneaks up the leaderboard. Hits it plenty long and at times can throw darts. Putting isn't a strength, but not a requirement at Bethpage.

I wonder though how penalizing the rough will be. We are talking New York in early May. The grass has literally barely started to fill in up here. Probably going to just be a bunch of flier lies from the rough.

This is a tough course even for pro's. He seems to play well at Bethpage. For guys like him, the tougher the course the better.

That said I'm rooting for Tommy Fleetwood. If not then Tiger would be good second choice.
