How about right now, 10:07 CST. You cant directly reply to a thread. As stated above, you can work around with the Quote link in new window. Right click on Quote and select "open in new tab or window".

I noticed it around 6pm central. But, it had already been an issue since I found this thread right when I noticed.

 

I replied in another thread by using the workaround. But, I didn't want to quote. Only did that to get me a text box to type in. I manually deleted the post that it was attempting to quote so it would appear that my post was standalone. This could be what you're seeing? Still using the workaround but getting rid of the quoted text?

I noticed new replies to comments stopping around 3:30pm Eastern Time. And because Im bored and cant go to sleep, I was looking at some code and there is a erroneous span closing tag before the Report option in the Flag comment button

What is going on with this site??!! All day I have not seen an option to leave a comment. Finally I started messing around pressing the quote tab in someone else’s post, and I had to press it and hold it for maybe 5-7 seconds until the comment section appeared. This site is almost becoming more trouble than it is worth. That really sucks because I love/loved the site before (more importantly the mobile version). I access this site from my phone 99.9% of the time, as it is just way more convenient for me, but I find myself getting more and more annoyed that WRX isn’t back to normal yet. smh

Testing. It’s odd that this works. Almost makes me think a coding error is literally hiding reply functions until a new tab is opened. I’m not too mad about it. I’ve got so many friends in coding that I feel like I almost understand the pain of whoever’s gonna be up at three am working on this.

I just noticed something so sorry for the double post. I work in the cell phone industry. I have three phones. An iPhone XS Max, a Note 9, and an s10+. My Android phones still have the reply functions. My iPhone does not.

Well, you taught me how to right click on a Mac. I had to look it up...hold the Control button while clicking.

 

I've never had a need to know this, despite exclusively using Macs since my Quadra 610 in 1993.

 

I guess I tried to post just when the glitch happened. It was mid afternoon Eastern. I noticed I could Like and also post new threads, but not comment on anything.

Initially I thought maybe it was a 2-week ban for something. I couldn't imagine what I had posted. But I tend to wander so it enables being offended from multiple directions.

I learned something new as well. There is no control button on iPad (which we determined earlier while trying to fix the page width so everything would show up ((it still doesn’t)). But holding the quote button does open up the new tab. A pain, but since I don’t post much anymore it doesn’t creat too big a problem.

 

I do still read a lot however and something else I’ve noticed. The home/“thread title” button is no longer there at the bottom of the page. I always used it to return to the list of topics within the thread or the forum list. Now, if I don’t want to just hit the back button I,have to scroll back up to the top first.

Sometimes things don't go as planned. You can only test so much...

 

New issue to report: cannot attach images or media either. No "OK/CANCEL" buttons to actually insert.

I first noticed the inability to reply a bit after 3pm CDT, May 27. I'm afraid I can't be more specific, didn't look at a clock until later, at 4pm.

 

Was using Samsung tablet, Opera browser. Android version 7.0

Also unable to respond on my desktop without the workaround, Windows 7, using Chrome browser (version 74.0.3729.157, if it matters)

I noticed around 4:30 eastern and if I recall had posted shortly before then.

 

So yeah the timeline is very likely around 3-5pm eastern yesterday

The software update was tested in a staging environment but there was a mismatch in patches between production and staging. We have inquiries in on how their change management missed the differences and after deployment testing procedures.
