How many high end private clubs is this now in the works west of Fort Worth? This has got to be the 3rd or 4th now currently being developed

https://golfweek.usatoday.com/2024/10/03/tiger-woods-bluejack-ranch-texas-fort-worth-new-course-design/

It'll be $150k+ to join and minimum $1,500 monthly

Anyone heard anything on the new course up in Celina?

Interesting. I think the houses in that development were in the $400k-$500k range so not sure what to expect.

it doesn't seem like there is much info on the legacy hills development this is in.  Did you find that price range from some of the builders websites?

No they actually did  a short piece on it on the local news.

Played Tour 18 for the first time with @callawayjay. I really enjoyed the golf course. Greens were spectacular. Fairways were in really good shape except maybe 1 hole. I never played it when it was bad but whoever is in charge now seems to be doing good.

Waterchase is right there for sure. But they’ve done a great job of making it great again

Regrettably haven’t played Waterchase in a while. It seems the word is out and tee times are harder to come by for a non-pass holder.

Wife played Pecan Hollow again today. Said greens were really good.

Said if she had putted a little bit better she would have shot really good. So, of course, I asked what she shot. 76 with 2 bogeys, 1 double, and 15 pars. She loves that course.

I told her that wasn't bad for a 72 year old grandmother of 5 😉

Man, that’s great to hear. It’s such a great layout and has been a shame that it has been so poorly maintained for years. Given how mild our summer was and that most courses are in great shape, it will be interesting to see if Tour 18 is just benefitting from that or if it will continue to be maintained in the future. Regardless, I’ll try to hit it while the hitting is good!

Played Waterchase today.

Greens recently verticut and lightly sanded. Still rolled well.

Conditions really good except for the bunkers which have been a mess for over a decade.

Only complaint is they have gone crazy with the sprinklers and there are areas you will sink in it’s so wet. My drive on 11 plugged in the center of the fairway.

Some tidbits from the last month or so.

- Cedar crest is looking better. Supposedly they were using the water from the par 3 (I think it's hole 3 or 4) to water the greens that's why they got ruined. Weird to water your greens with swamp water especially when the city owns the course so just use city water ?

- Course 2 at Sherill Park re-opens in November. They spent around 9 million on the remodel so it should be really nice. Has always been a much better layout than course 1

- Canyon Creek was really nice. First full year open after the remodel. Hard to score low, the greens are brutal.

- Took a newbie to Watters Creek to play the 9 hole short course. Was a lot of fun. 6 par 3s and 3 par 4s. Very scenic layout with no houses on the course. No houses + it wasn't busy so very chill atmosphere.

- Bent Tree supposedly just passed an assessment for a course remodel. Very big deal since their clubhouse they finished in 2021 is one of the nicest in the entire state.

Very curious to see what they’ve changed on Course 2 at Sherrill. That place has always been a great spot and is extremely well run for a muni.

Agree about the 9 hole at WC. The 6 hole wedge course is pretty fun too if it’s not busy.

Had our annual couples trip to Glen Rose and Squaw Valley on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

As has always been the case, both courses were in decent to good shape for this time of year. Greens rolled good and had really good pace to them especially if you got above the hole.

We've been going down for about 10 years now and both courses are just really fun courses to play with quite a few really flat-out good golf holes on each course.

These are courses that you can play for $50 during the week and $60 on the weekend (and less if you are a senior) and it is absolutely worth it!

Everything there is awesome, except for the giant putting green. But it's alright for a giant putting green open to the public. Just go, you'll love it, great course, even better conditions. Those guys are top notch.

When I went, the giant putting green was interesting. I didn't spend time on it, but I may go on that and The Swing next week. I'm going up there by myself this time, so I will have more time to check it all out.
