New Titleist irons to debut at U.S. Open

The new Titleist T100, 620 MB and 620 CB irons will make their tour debut at this week's U.S. Open.

 

New MB looks slick!

 

CB looks a little more busy unfortunately, but seems like they finally removed “Forged” from the head itself and moved it to the hosel.

 

In my own opinion, the T100 (old AP2 I am assuming) remains pretty similar.

I wonder what the story is behind the T100. From the pictures they look slimmer than the 718 ap2. Keeping with the silver color scheme of the 718. Looks clean. Count me in.

The last thing Titleist needed was to add another iron to their line, good lord. Not saying they don’t look good, but what niche does the T1100 fill if it doesn’t replace the AP2? And if they do replace the AP line, their insane. They are iconic and sell so well.

Does seem like the T1100 is an AP2 replacement if they are talking about fitting tour players. Does seem odd, given the lines history and the need to renumber the AP1s and AP3s.

 

Titleist irons have always looked good. However, the CBs seem to be closer to the T1100s (or "AP2s") than in the past (only slightly different from the MBs).

MB and CB look great. If the T100 replaces AP2 I think Titleist have made a mistake. For 10 years they had the most used players cavity on the market. Getting rid of that branding makes no sense to me. I hate the T100 name - much less catchy. I’d bag a CB/MB combo.

They are replacing the AP2 line, because the AP3's fit between the AP1 and the AP2. They should have been called AP1.5. So the new T100 (AP2), T200 (AP3) and T300 (AP1) gets that straightened out.

 

I'm guessing that the T100 will be only very slightly changed from the AP2. If pictures of T300 are correct, there's something strange going on there with a weight out towards the toe.

By the way, any established player who would put a new set of irons in the bag for the US Open is off his rocker, unless his iron play is sub standard and he is looking for an equipment fix.

MB looks sick. CB has a lot going on.. T100 looks pretty much same as 718AP2, maybe a touch smaller. I think my 718 will be in the bag for a longgggg time.

I'll wait for the T-1000 iron that can morph into whatever length and loft you need.

 

It might try to kill you, but at least the bag will be lighter.

It's not like they haven't been playing the irons for months before they put them in the bag.

I must be a lone wolf, I like those CB’s. If the MB’s and CB’s look very similar over the ball, I can’t see why a blended set wouldn’t work...

Nope and there’s a couple threads that have been going on for the cb where others mentions they like them as well as a thread about the rest of the line

I'm a big fan of the CB as well. Will probably do 4-PW in the fall, although I'd love to mix the MB's in around 7 or 8 through PW.

not as high of a muscle as the 680 and 681's had but they still look money
