Eastern Monmouth County NJ Clubs

Picked up golf again last year and it's become a bit of an obsession. I'm playing 1-2x per week, work permitting, and frankly getting a bit annoyed with the fees for less than stellar courses. The County courses are actually pretty good but its difficult getting an early tee time (which I prefer).

I've also started making some good money at my new job, and would like to at least start considering joining a country club. I live in Ocean Township (not County), so the closest clubs are Deal, Hollywood and Jumping Brook. I've been to Deal many times with a good friend who is a member - I absolutely love it there, everyone is very friendly, great course, great chef and supremely convenient to my house. That said, I get the sense it may be a bit out of price range. I have absolutely no idea what cost to expect, and I don't want to get into that with my friend. Suffice to say, I know he makes very good money.

Jumping Brook is pretty close, and they have very reasonable prices for under 35 y/o membership, but no tee-times before 10am for "intermediate members" and it seems lack many of the bells and whistles of a place like Deal. That said, I assume it to be considerably cheaper. A few rounds on non-County courses and a trip to the range every week would likely cost more than the monthly membership at my age. I am really not familiar with the course though.

Thoughts on these two clubs? If anyone has the inside scoop on Deal cost, a private message would be appreciated. Or any experiences with Jumping Brook membership. Or if I'm overlooking anything, though I really don't want to join anywhere more than 15 minutes from home.
