best practice facilities in scotland?

hi guys, can you tell me where to find the best practice facilities in scotland?

it's a hard thing to find in scotland, but may you know a few good facilities.

the best I found yet, is blairgworie... putting green, chipping greens, driving range (iron only) and nets for woods and driver.

Blairgowrie is good.

Dundonald Links has good facilities and its nearby neighbour Glasgow Gailes also has good facilities.

Are these generally available? Others in Troon and/or North Berwick area? 5 more weeks!

 

Here is the best range in Dornoch, lol. Looks a lot better in photos than in person, but it was better than nothing, and had it all to myself!

They are available if you are playing the courses. Machrihanish Dunes also has great practice facilities.

thanks guys. glasgow gailes was ok, but imo not the same league as blairgowrie. i have never been to this range in dornoch ? saw it on google maps, but never made my way there. I am usually not practicing or warming up, when in scotland. but I am searching a good facility to sharpen my game in 2020... and I always come back to the same decision: blairgowrie. or are there any other options you can recommend?

Just did Scotland trip a few weeks ago and we made good use of the St Andrews Golf Academy. Lots of stalls where you can hit every club including driver, pricing was quite reasonable, and there is Trackman on each stall which was nice, especially to help learn those low spin knockdown shots that one doesn’t use much here at home. Good short game area too, with several large greens and a variety of lies to work with.

I didn't hit a ball that wasn't in play (when it started anyways) my last trip, bar 6 balls into a practice net, so I cannot comment on any of the course ranges.

The St. Andrews Academy is an option, combined with a membership at Scotscraig .

 

wellsgreen looks interesting. lundin and leven also offer overseas memberships. so definitely an option. do you know if they have practice greens? can't find anything on the homepage.

I've just had a quick google... Gleneagles has a PGA National golf academy with some decent facilities by the looks of it. It has "pitching bays, a short game pitching area, three short game practice greens with five varied bunkers and two putting greens."

It depends what you're looking for, if grass tees are a must then the options are very limited.

In terms of pre-round facilities then Archerfield, Dundonald, Trump International and Turnberry are some of the finest I've seen.

 

For a practice facility you can visit without a round then there are now several ranges with trackman or flight scope. The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre is one, and the St Andrews Academy is another. These are some of the best I've see with the tech.

 

Lee Westwood can regularly be found in Bay 3/4 at Braid Hills driving range in Edinburgh but it's nothing to write home about and is set on a bit of a hill.

Murcar has a pretty decent practice facility, and it's surrounded by great courses (Murcar included)

Elmwood in Cupar has excellent practice facilities, short game area, range, several greens

The best that I can remember using are the facilities at Trump Aberdeen and Gleneagles.
