When the grip solvent is dry and the grip is set- just break the tape and install the SAW System.

Just the same as a SuperStroke counter core, cut the tape out after install.

I like the concept of the saw system, but more than anything I am a tinkerer and this keeps me from buying more driver shafts for a little while.

My Seemore had a Rosemark but it was very well worn. I currently have a ping black out on it.

So here is an initial testing report. I’ll explain why I can’t review the whole system in a bit.

 

I installed the R1 grip on my SC Squareback 2. I installed it widest part parallel with the face. I didn’t play a round with it but I went to a couple different courses to test out on different green speeds. I really love this grip. I can absolutely feel where the face is pointing and if it’s square during my stroke. I feel like my start line is better and all I have to do is stroke the putt. I did change my grip. I am putting traditional but with my right hand index finger and palm as flat against the grip as I can get it. This has increased my face awareness even more. This grip also helps me really set my angles in my wrists and eliminate and wrist movement.

 

As for the SAW system, I haven’t been able to really test it. The set pin for my end cap came to me stripped. When I put the rod down my shaft, I wasn’t able to get it out because the rod would not stay secured to the end cap. I could only get it out with pliers. I sent an email to their info address on Saturday afternoon telling them about my issue and got an email back on Sunday morning. They said they would have a new end cap on its way to me on Monday. I understand that shit happens sometimes but I am pretty happy with their customer service. After practicing for several hours yesterday, I don’t know if I will even add any counterbalance but I do appreciate their very quick willingness to make it right.

Anyone put this on a strokelab putter yet? Thinking of throwing one on my Toulon Vegas. I know I will have to remove the counter weight in the strokelab if I wanted to use the SAW system.

Has anyone tried to install these with just air (no solvent)?

I also mess around with different types of grips, and install grips with just air which allows me to remove easily. Never had issues with the grip rotating.

Looks like the butt end is threaded, which might now allow air installation.

I did not realize there were as may people as me with putter grip addiction. Perhaps we should all have a meeting (similar to AA).

Square / rectangle grips are not new. I had one on a 50 year old Slazenger putter.

That said, I NEED a square grip for my current putter, so I'm going to order one.

Hello Matt! People that use the claw method with Sense R1 grip usually rotate the grip 90* so they have a lot of surface area to place their hand on. Hope that helps!

Sidenote: The SAW weight system is excellent and fits into superstroke grips. I am using the SAW weight in my SS wrist lock grip on my Mannkrafted putter.

I've had the S1 on my gamer since last September. I love it and plan to buy another one when it comes time to replace mine. There are only two things keeping it from being totally perfect. 

 

First, I wish it was just a tiny bit firmer. It feels nice, but it's so soft that it occasionally feels like it's twisting. When I eventually replace it, I will ask the installer to use more tape on the next one, which may be all it really needs. We'll see...

 

Second, the plastic at the ends is kinda flimsy and the butt end of mine cracked as soon as I screwed in the SAW weights for the first time. The crack has widened to about 2mm, and the plastic part on the bottom end has a stress point, where it looks like it's about to crack too. Neither of these really impacts performance, but I notice it every once in a while and it bugs me. I also fear that it will crack again and the weight won't be able to screw in anymore. 

 

The only other issues I have are purely cosmetic. I'd love it if the plastic on the ends was also black. Every part of my putter is basically matte black, so I'd prefer if those were too. I filled in the "S" logo with a sharpie as soon as I got it, but painting the grey plastic seems like more of a hassle than it's worth. Maybe on the next one. 

 

I also sorta wish they'd do a square "pistol" version. A tiny bit of extra grip under my top 2-3 fingers would help me grip the same way more consistently. Just sayin-

Been using the R1 grip for 18 months or so now...best putter grip i've ever used. In my opinion it makes it SO much easier to line up putts correctly.

I've had my S1 on for a year now. I love it, but I am disappointed that the plastic bit a the top cracked on both sides on mine, and the weight system won't stay in without me wrapping some tape around it. I'm gonna buy another one pretty soon, but with the season coming to an end, I'm not in any rush. It's an awesome grip though, so if you're on the fence about trying one, I say go for it.
