We, the fans of Phil, love him because he refuses to back down and will hit driver when he shouldn't. At times he's simply infuriating to watch but we can't help but root for him because he's just like us.

Who cares if Phil is hitting drives 383 yards off the tee into the lake when he can't even make the cut. One thing is certain though, he will beat no one on the Champions tour bombing it like an idiot. Only on the GolfWRX would someone take distance over accuracy.....

Have you followed Phil for the last 30 years?

This is not a new development...

I’m simply impressed by his hall of fame career and seemingly timeless swing that never breaks down....

His move, especially his hip action and arc, have always harkened back to the Bobby Jones era....

Love his swing and his mentality....

Also, his win count is outrageously rare....and under appreciated imho

LOL! …..My point was (look at typical Phil). I forget that you must spell everything out or some of these goofballs. Phil is drunk with distance. He is satisfied to hit it pass the youngsters. No excuse for bogeying par 5's when trying to make the cut.

I don't know if it was in the drink but he should have tried to punch it out verses going for the green....

Not really. Not even a record for Phil. 2007 HSBC Champions in China. Couple shots lead after 3 rounds. 4th round Phil had 6 penalty shots with a least 5 balls in the water. In typical Phil fashion, in spite of all the screw-ups, shooting 76 to blow the lead, won in a playoff.

Yeah the strokes gained stats say otherwise. He got a bad break and then made the mental mistake of trying to hit it out of the penalty area. Hitting straight bombs at his age is not his issue
