I'll just let the guy who builds em worry about all that.   He works on clubs for guys who play for a living,  so I'll be just fine with the adjustments and swing weights, he's plenty capable without random internet advice.

It's a new world for me, I've played in temps this year I normally would have avoided like the plague...I'm walking instead of riding.    If you haven't done so already, I would be preparing for the end of the world.

Great to hear, was hoping you weren’t going rogue on your own.

Serious question. If you weren't online and someone was talking about club building or making a suggestion, would you have this attitude? Crazy. The guy was just commenting on the build; there's no need to take it so personally. Sheesh. 😂

It's more about him and our past interactions on here, and based on those interactions I doubt he was actually trying to be helpful.  I would probably be better served just ignoring him.

You should give psygolf the number to your guy. He seems very concerned about this build.

White Hawk Grey to Silver this morning. They aerated the fairways on Grey so I had very little roll. Not really a concern though, since in the Spring I play the Whites there. The course was in pretty solid shape for early in the season. It’s greening up nicely and the greens were excellent. The shipments of sand were just kinda dumped in huge piles on a bunch of bunkers but hadn’t yet been spread out. Ball striking was very good and I had plenty of birdie looks. Only got one to drop though (on Grey 7). Might be time to bench my new putter for a bit. 74.

I'll second this.  My putting stats have improved since switching.  Beyond putts per hole average dropping, I've had less three putts, made more in the 5-10 foot range, and have had several rounds with less than 30 putts, which is unheard of for me.

He called bs when I listed the courses I played this past fall.  Then I posted pictures.  That’s the extent of our past.

Death, taxes, and the weatherman being wrong. Bear and I played Broken Arrow this morning. The rare East-North combo. My measuring stick for BA is, “Can I play out of the bunkers or are they ponds?” Using that criteria, BA passed. Fairways were fine, greens were slow but smooth, rough was still waking up from winter dormancy. Call it greenish yellow. It was overcast and breezy on the front. As we made the turn, we slammed on the brakes and the heavens opened up. That soak lasted the whole back nine. So much for scattered showers in the afternoon. The rain didn’t really affect my game though, as I hit 8 fairways and 13 greens. Same issues on the greens. 31 total putts, no 3 putts, and when I needed to save par I did. But no birdies despite some solid looks. Another 74. That’s a wrap on Spring Break golf. 7 rounds in 8 days is pretty good.

I don't think I called bs, I think i more told you I don't really care.   If I did call bs, I'll for sure apologize for being wrong and being less than cordial our last few interactions.

Hit Prairie Landing this morning.  We had it all in West Chicago.   Cool and windy,  light rain for a couple holes,  then sun.   Greens rolled decent,  and overall course was in okay shape, especially with what we have seen so far.   Cart path only, but we walked it so no problems there (new electric cart was awesome!)  Front 9 we flew through in 90 minutes,  the brakes hit ard on the back with 2:20,  still under 4 hours so no complaints.

I was a bit exhausted after hitting about 200 shots last night, but got the irons where I want them and the end result was hitting 16 of 18 greens.  Sadly my putter took the day off and was only able to birdie 4 and 17,  Had a couple three putts in there, ended with a 73.

Knew the course was walking only - but since we do - it didn't matter.

Place was in pretty good condition and the greens had been dressed.

Noticed that more trees have been removed, especially around the creek borders.

There are places on the course that provide a full 360 view of the property and I like that.

We had a variety of weather Saturday morning. Started off very cloudy, a bit cool & breezy. Four holes later it warmed enough to be in shirtsleeves.  Three more holes and the rain hit and the wind stayed strong. Almost bailed at the turn, but as one of our guys said, "Hey, we're playing, right?"

Rain stopped around number 15 and the sun made it's appearance.

When we were walking off 18 green, there were at least four players in the practice area asking if they could have our pullcarts as the course ran out of them.

You never saw such disappointed faces when we told them - we own these.

Re: carts..my pal bought one of the MGI Navigators and while it's a really handy thing to have, I noticed there aren't really storage areas.

Are all the electric ones like that?

When the MGI became how I walked the course, I upsized to a cart bag and that has so much more space than the stand bag. There are still several pockets that are completely empty and I don't like to carry extra stuff anyway. Can easily have rain gear plus a just a wind shirt in there if needed. The design issue with the MGI is actually the umbrella holder. I'm not an exceptionally tall person but when it's raining and i'm under the umbrella, I need to duck my head a bit to stay away from the umbrella hitting me in the head.  MGI has an extender for the umbrella but it's always out of stock.

EDIT

@TC - looked at accessories last night and the MGI has an additional storage bag available.

The Cybercart (I really hate that name) is built more like a standard pushcart so it does have some storage in it.   I also use a Vessel Players V Pro, which has more storage than my house so I'm not really hurting in that regard.  Like DP said - get a big bag if you need storage, you aren't the one needing to move it around the course with an electric cart.

Weather is looking lovely this weekend, if the rain can hold off I'll be at the Preserve on Saturday and a practice round at Naperbrook on Sunday for the up coming 2 man best ball.

So far, 2025 has been a year of playing with wonderful people...you know that would come to an end sooner or later.  Playing in a tournament at Silver Lake and still establishing an index. Paired up with 2 wonderful guys and another person who was establishing his index as well. Also a retired senior so this could be fun. He's telling everyone on the first tee how good he is, so this is either going to be fun to watch or a total S show. You already know where this is going.

He was generally playing from 1 and sometimes 2 fairways to the right of where the rest of us played from and kept saying he was hitting the ball too straight instead of his usual hook. He used words I've never heard on a golf course before, it was bad, and not in an entertaining way, more of an embarrassing way. Guessing he shot upper 50's on the front and finally squeaked out his first par on the 15th. Quite the happy dance ensued. On 16, he smoked a drive, his best of the day by 50 yards and in the proper fairway. As I'm walking up the fairway he says, "watch this" so I did. He had probably 250ish to the green and after his next shot had about 245 in. After the next shot, he had about 175 to go. He proceeded to whip his fairway wood and of course, it went right over my head. Thankfully I was paying attention or I'd be wearing a Taylormade wood.

In my advancing years, I've become better at keeping my yapper shut and said nothing.  He walked over, and possibly an apology is forthcoming. Wrong. He says, "If you're going to play golf with me, you better pay attention because I throw clubs." Duly noted, along with his last name, as at some of the events, you choose your tee time and playing partners, and that was hopefully the last time. I won't mention that some of his positioning of the ball reminded me of Patrick Reed, or that his ball drops were reminiscent of Tiger at the Players in 2013. Fortunately, one of the guys who runs the event saw/experienced everything and I'm pretty sure a conversation was held in the parking lot. So nice to have someone else be TFRG. VNutz will know what that means.

Priceless.

my go to exclamations are usually along the lines of mumbling "what the XXX?" and walking to the next shot.

Considering you have 2 hole in ones in your golf life, and I was the constant in both, I'll contend I bring out the best in people.

Come to think of it, who were you playing with when you shot the lowest score of your life at Prairie Bluff? Thought so!
