Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized vs Bushnell Pro XE

After reading lots of reviews I bought the Nikon. It worked so poorly I returned it after about 4 rounds. The viewfinder is very clear from a focus standpoint, but I had a hard time looking through it. But the biggest problem was getting a consistent reading for distance to the pin. I would point the bullseye right at the pin and 90% of the time I'd get a reading for something else. I would know I was about 150 out based on the markers in the fairway, and I'd press the button 5 times and get 5 different readings - and none of them anywhere close to 150. And because of that, when I did get a reading that was close to what I thought the distance was, I couldn't trust it, no knowing whether it was reading the pin or a bush 20 yards behind the green.

??? I Have No Such Problem. Nikon Is The Best Rangefinder I have Ever Used. Simple to Use and a Very Stable Image. Would NOT Trade for Any Other Unit. Love Mine.

I really Like the Green Ring That Indicates Lock On To The Closest Target. Can Shoot ranges from anywhere too. Bunkers, Water Hazards, back to the tee to see how far I hit the ball. Use to think GPS was all I Needed but I Would Not Want to Be Without My Nikon.

Yeah, that’s what most of the reviews said. Maybe I just got a dud unit.

My only real complaint with the Nikon is the case........you would think that at this quality and price point we would get something better than the cheap, soft case.

The Bushnell case for the XE is not good at all. Wouldn’t be shocked if folks lose their device

Amazon sells the Nikon with a soft case or with a 'deluxe hard shell case'. Same price. I have the latter and it's great.

Would love to buy that hard case separately....anyone know if that's possible?

Nikon COOLSHOT 80iVR last year I was hesitant to spend the money again for another rangefinder. Nikon COOLSHOT PRO Stabilized was the best rangefinder on the market. The second generation stabilization technology is so fast and smooth that you almost don't realize just how much of a benefit it is at being able to select and keep your target.

Love my Nikon. My hands shake like crazy so the stabilization is a must for me. Only complaint I have is sometimes the yardages are not as bright as I'd like them to be on really sunny days.

Just bit the bullet and bought the Nikon tonight, early BDay gift to myself ?. I agree, the stock case is a not what it should be. I too would love to secure the deluxe case somehow. BB

Both the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized and Bushnell Pro XE have red OLED displays for easier viewing on cloud days, slope compensation technology, and similar ranging capabilities.

 

The Bushnell Pro XE has a built-in magnet and 7x magnification power which are both missing with the Nikon. However, the Nikon has image stabilization technology which gives you fast, accurate readings even if you have really shaky hands.

 

I would choose the Nikon rangefinder because fast, accurate distance measurements are more important than a built-in magnet and 7x magnification power. I have had both and prefer the XE.

 

I read a review that noted the Nikon was too light.  That led me to buy it.  I thought the low weight would be great.  As it turned out... it WAS too light, arguably causing my had to move more.  Overall, I found the Nikon a bit fidgety.  I also had a Leupold 4Xi2 at the time.  The plan was to replace the Leupold with the Nikon, but I wound up preferring the Leupold.  I sold the Nikon quickly.  I didn't really give it a chance, to be honest.

 

I have since purchased a Bushnell XE for myself and handed the Leupold to my daughter.  From a usability (response, intuitiveness) perspective I much prefer the Bushnell to the Nikon.

I've had the Nikon Coolshot 50i for the past year. Best rangefinder I've owned so far. I've owned Leupold, Bushnell and Precision Pro in the past. All worked fine. Just something about the Nikon that feels more user friendly to me.

I've had my Nikon Coolshot Pro 2 now for almost a year and love it. Quick read, stabalizing feature is great. Only negative is sometimes in really foggy situations it doesnt catch a read. But that's rare.

I have myself a ProXE and can say with absolute confidence it is not worth the money. For starters it has a lot of difficulty actually picking up the flag (not just on mine but on a couple university teammates as well), the slope factor is hit or miss, and the "elements" option they touted as the best thing since sliced bread is questionable at best.

Not to mention the company itself is a dumpster fire. Good luck with any warrantee requests or customer services issues, you are SOL with either of those.

For the money you're better off buying a bluetees or precision pro at half the price
