Ridiculous golf gifts from non-golfers

We've all been there, getting a box of crappy golf balls, novelty tees, what is the worst thing you've gotten as a gift because you're the golfer in the family?

Just got a “golfers” coffee mug.

the bottom of the cup has a convex tunnel that you putt a tilny ball through with a tiny club. Not sure where the toys are supposed to go without losing them plus the tunnel means less room for coffee.

Another year, another box of Titelist DT TrueSoft's from my uncle. He even gets them branded for his business and hands them out to customers. And I always get one of the leftovers. It's about the thought...

Wasn't me but my mum bought dad a cheapy putting mat that rolls faster than oakmont when it's place on a hard surface lol. Useless on carpet.

Mostly I just get branded tees and balls from various people. Not as gifts but people just give leftover golf stuff to me from events etc....not the worst thing in the world

When I was a kid a friend at one of my brithday parties (probably sometime in highschool) got me a box of Maxfli or Slazenger no-names from WalMart and then proceeded to give me some swing and putting advice. He didn't golf. The balls I'm sure were fine, what does a non-competing teen care, a ball is a ball; it was the swing and putting advice that was odd.

I usually do not get any golf gifts unless i ask specifically. Like I got a new bag from the woman, but i picked it out.

The worst I got was a putting mat that you place around your toilet so you can putt while you go...never used it

Just about every Christmas, my dad will get me a box of nitros, overly big tees, those foam practice balls, etc...all stuff you could find at target or Walmart. He doesn’t golf, doesn’t know anything more than what you’d expect a casual fan to know, and even hated watching golf until Tigers last comeback, where he actually enjoys watching him play... Although I hardly use those gifts (give them to buddies, or first tee program at my local course), they have become my favorite thing to look forward to during X-mas. It’s more the sheer fact he’ll willingly sort through the golf aisle just to find me a gift...which is a gift in itself haha

My boss got me a Ping hoofer with her husband's company logo on it, I was actually super surprised that it was a ping bag lol and not some generic rando bag. It's old, like early 2010's but still in plastic. I ended up making it my den caddy, it hold's extra clubs and shafts etc... On the other side of that, my father in law got me some old croc skin shoes that are 1.Used 2. Missing a Spike and 3 UGLY

My friend that can't break 100 on a good day gets ProV1's. He says he doesn't ask for them but his family gets them none the same because the shop tells them "they are the best." Pizzes me off that golf shops take advantage of well intending buyers that way.

Only defense I'll give them is that they are a gift, and pro V1 are actually a good ball. So it's a nice thing to give someone as a gift

If you bring a bottle of wine to someone's house who is hosting, you bring a more expensive one even if you know a cheaper one that is just as good. It's just what people do

A wind chime from my mother in law. It was fashioned from a nine-iron whose shaft was bent into a spiral and then used to hang windchimes on. Nutty.

On the other end, my sister in law each year gets me a calendar with 12 pretty photos of golf holes. Perfect.
