The forced walking in the afternoon is completely dependent on their cart availability. They let people take a cart during the walking only times if they have carts available but you have to ask for it.

The Dunes is one of my favorite courses, probably the only Pete Dye course I ever have liked. I need to play there this year!!!

Played the Dunes with a group of guys yesterday. Was peer-pressured into playing the Gold tees out there, which I've never done before. Wild card with 2 triples and 4 birdies. 3 lost balls/water. But the course was in great shape. Greens rolled great and I was actually able to make some putts.

I feel your pain. I’ve had to play the black tees at Colorado national too many times. Played there one box up yesterday and still lost 5 balls. Not a great day for the score but it was gorgeous out at least

I was debating playing from the tips (course handicap 14) at Indian Peaks this upcoming weekend for my golf league, but I reasoned with myself that I suck and moved up to the black tees and only get 11 strokes.

I just moved to Denver a few months ago from out of state and I'm looking for some money games to play in on the weekends and possibly some weekdays. I'm 29 years old and when I'm playing regularly my handicap is around scratch. Anyone that can give me any info would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone previously walked Bear Dance? Playing there a couple times over the next week. I’m not a big fan of the cart path only experience but concerned that walk could be more of an experience killer than CPO.

I've heard rumors of some big money games at Common Ground during the week. Whenever City Park reopens, that's another one that was known for having regular money games.

They don't normally allow walking. They were only doing it a month ago because they weren't allowed to give out carts. Now that they can use carts, I doubt they would let you walk. It would be a brutal walk anyway due to all the up and down elevation changes.

Walking any of the courses south of Lincoln would not be fun. Red Hawk, Plum Creek, The Ridge, Bear Dance....no thank you.

Thanks for the feedback... walk lone tree and fossil quite a bit but after a lap today in a cart bear dance just isn’t built for it. You’d lose so much time between holes. Probably CPO for another week or two. Greens rolled very well.

Not to be nit picky, but the 8 holes south of Lincoln are a tough walk. :D

Yeah I’ve walked the front there but never the back.

I haven’t played Black Bear since it was Canterbury but I remember thinking this thing would be horrible to walk. Some of the green to tee gaps were huge.

Once it became Black Bear, they rearranged the routing. The gap between 10 and 11 is probably close to 1/2 mile now!

Indian Peaks was in great shape on Saturday. I was 1 for 2 with birdie putts inside 6 feet, and 0 for 3 between 6-15 feet. Besides an unfortunate 4-putt (brain-farted a 6-inch tap-in), I only had 37 putts. I was also strong-armed into playing from the tips, which, when I thought about it, was only 400 yards more than the black tees. It was very helpful on the par 4's because it let me use driver instead of figuring out what iron would work best off the tee.

As stated, it also gave me three extra strokes, which allowed me to win low net. In fact, I was the only person who shot under-par net. I think all of us miss the driving range. haha

True, font is fairly easy walk. BACK not so much. The walk alone from 10 to 11 is crazy.

We played Lone Tree yesterday afternoon actually. The course was in good shape, greens still need a bit of work but fast and subtle breaks. Front 9... would like to forget but I think I am scared for life now LOL... I just could not judge the wind at all..! The back 9 the wind died down and was a solid 9.

I've played the past 4 weeks in a row, and I'm loving it.

Also, man, prices have changed since I played regularly in 2018. Just went to check Heritage Eagle Bend (closest to my job, so easiest to sneak out to on Friday afternoons). I have receipts in my Gmail where I paid $34 for 18 holes on a weekend at 2:40pm. Now they're asking for $80, on a weekday?! $55 is their new twilight rate, starting at 4:00pm?! What kinda tomfoolery is going on here?

Tee sheets are full. They can charge those prices and keep people coming, apparently. GVR is charging $150 for Monday.....

Okay I am out of touch on this but why is the rate normally $60-75 and Monday is $147.00???

That is a really sad situation............. Maybe they just wanted the holiday off =)

Its nice most all the courses opened, and most of the ranges. We had some nice family trips planned this year but all are canceled (all non golf related). Given this I now find myself sitting around thinking I should plan a golf trip somewhere but wondering if that is a smart move or not?? Anyone else still have golf trips planned? Cancel some you were really looking forward too?
