New Titleist Irons Dropping in March

Didn't they just launch a whole range of new irons 6 months ago? Talk about product cycles getting shorter and shorter.

It’s not a shorter product cycle if they are new lines. They did something similar with the ts1 and ts4.

Its a partnership with the old Liquid Metal company for the T-800 and T-1000 irons. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the spokesperson and ambassador for this club line.

I always thought Titleist had their equipment cycles laid out pretty clearly. Irons 1 year and drivers

and FW’s the next year. Scotty Cameron’s rotate their 2 putter lines, 1 each year. I certainly would

hate to see them go the route of Taylormade and introduce something new every other week. (Slight

exaggeration).

I just wish ALL companies would show some clarity on whats coming and when. I know its hard BUT god there is nothing worse then buying something and a week later seeing the same company has new gear out thats meant to be the bees knees.

titleist has 2 year cycles but have released other clubs mid cycle or sooner like the ts1 and ts4. It doesn’t change their release cycle but rather offers another option for golfers and so far they haven’t indicated they will not stay with 2 year cycle on the ts1/4 so one would guess the same will apply to these irons.

ping has released driver models in the middle of a cycle like the g400 Max. Both titleist and ping tend not to release anything until they are sure they will improve on something.

lastly why are options for customers in golf the only consumer item that gets bashed for having new stuff.

When you pay $500 for a new driver, you like to think it’s going to be the best that brand has to

offer for a couple years rather than 6 months later an improved option hits the market.

Dont most companies release a driver, wood,hybrid or iron line every 12 months with the exception of a few brands on 18-24 month cycles.

What if the new release wasn’t ready in time for the initial release ala g400 Max? Should the company hold off unti the next product cycle to release it and lose out on potential sales in the current year?

Companies can do whatever is good for them but I can totally understand why consumers would be frustrated that they may have been fitted into one product and then find out that 6 months later something, which might fit them better, has come out.

And what if the product comes out isn’t better for them? It’s all potential but doesn’t mean what they have stops working. If they were fit into their current set them they would have an optimal setup for their swing right?

That's what happens when you buy something. There is always going to be something "newer" or "better", it is up to the person to decide whether or not they are going to upgrade. To be honest, most players who were recently fit, are happy with the results, and seeing corresponding scores are very unlikely to consider shopping for something else. As much as it gets spoken about on here, I bet 98% of the stories people post on here about having 6 brand new iron sets each year, or hunting endlessly for the best of the best a complete lie. I've worked golf retail long enough to know that really only people who are in the business change their equipment constantly. I'm sure some do it but to have a website with multiple thousands of members with a large majority that claim to do this seems farfetched.

They would have had the optimal setup for their swing from the clubs that were available to them. It’s like back in the 2000’s when an artist would release an album which fans would go out and buy then six months later, a deluxe version comes out with a couple new songs. There will be people who are not bothered about it at all but there will be people who would have thought that they would have waited to get the delude version.

Been on the fence for the T300. I know it is around the corner, but any insight into the T400 is appreciated as I am looking to commit to a set this month.

The T200 is the most like the P790 as it is...how is an SGI iron even chunkier than the T300 (more GI) supposed to kill a players iron?

If it's similar to the TMB, as some have stated, then it sounds like they named the T400 "wrong" - just like the AP3.

Following the "higher number means more forgiveness" model, the AP3 was really an AP1.5

I have owned every set of AP2's from the 712 - 718 which I currently game. I just refreshed my 718s in the spring so I didn't pay much attention to the T100's. Aside from the obvious (length), why are they looking to add release the T120's or whatever the T100's with 2 degrees of extra stronger loft? Is there something wrong with the T100 line?

One definitely has to be Black T100s. Cam Smith just won with those in the bag.
