Favorite Soft Grips

In my advancing senior years I've come to the realization that I now prefer softer grips. I've tried Dri-Tac (luxurious feel but wore quickly), CP2 Pro wrap and non-wrap (nice but lost tackiness too quickly), and GP Tour Wrap (ok but horrible in wet or sweaty conditions). Anything else you guys who like softer grips can recommend? I use mid-size grips and don't really care much about color, price or appearance. Thanks

Sorry a little off topic but I think it is related. Does a softer grip typically mean better shock absorption?

Old school Avon Chamois oversize. Might be somewhat larger than midsize depending on shaft butt diameter.

Yes - IMO I find I get better shock absorption with a softer grip. I beat a lot of balls at the range so I find them easier on my hands and joints.

Thanks! That was my assumption but you never know. Got to look into these suggestions for grips, otherwise I am just going back to the tour wrap or GP velvet

The Winn Excels are much better at shock absorption. I just reshafted my irons with new Recoils and to change up I put Golf Pride midsize tour wraps on with 4 wraps underneath.

Going to test these grips for a few rounds and if the pain in my one elbow comes back I'm taking them off and putting the Winns back on.

Hitting balls in my back yard hitting area I can tell there is a difference between the Winns and tour wraps but I want to see how much of a difference from hitting off a mat compared to grass. The good thing is the weather is warm and the ground isn't frozen like a couple weeks ago when I played so I should get a good judgement on the tour wraps.

Lamkin SONAR and they make a wrap in it if that's more to your liking.

Thanks again to all the suggestions. I went and bought 13 SuperStroke Cross Comfort mid-sizes yesterday.

It is a million below zero here in Alberta right now so golf is just a TV sport at the moment.

Winn Dri-Tac, wrap. I use mid-size. Soft and durable.

Winn Excel(black wrap ones) are excellent. They might wear a little quicker than rubber, but its the only grip I put on driver any longer. Z-cords on everything else. Quite the difference I know, but with driver I like to feel a different sensation, as to separate the notion of driver vs iron swing. Winn dritac is a firm tack, while the excel have some plushness to them as well as tack.

Try the new Lamkin Comfort plus. Easily as soft (if not a bit softer IMO) than the CP2's. It's going to be different for everyone, but at least for me I haven't had any issues with them wearing out quickly.

CP2 wrap dont lose tackiness over time..... been using for years. Try wiping them down with a wet towel once and a while lol...

The secret to keeping wraps tacky is wiping them down with a warm wet cloth with DISH soap. Then use a dry towel to dry them. DO not rinse or wipe with clean water. Sounds counterintuitive but makes them tacky!
