Crazy SHIPPING Prices!!!!!

I think they make all there profits on shipping!!! I just can't stand the fact some items only they carry and I haven't found them anywhere else yet.....

early this week(monday) I purchased some ferrules (aprox. 25 pieces) total cost of the ferrules $19.25..now shipping 3day delivery(why 3day- cause standard ground from GW takes at least 10 days, they are sooo slow to pick orders too!!) was $21.33 WTF!!! under 1 pound, come on now...even for ground shipping it was 11.33!!

I hate how greedy they are...business is business of course, but don't back load into shipping... or perhaps use the USPS- first class would be about $3.25 and take less time than UPS ground and I would buy more from them perhaps!!???

that is expensive but try buying golf clubs from the staes when you live in canada. a couple years ago I bought some new irons and wanted them to come before I went on holidays and it cost me $75 for my irons to come from las vegas to calgary ab in 5 days.

Gotta make money somehow. Give them a call, maybe it was a mistake. I just got a couple shafts and the shipping was like 10.

 

I'll go to Golfworks because they have always given me the best customer service...FAR better than Golfsmith.

I paid nearly 150 bucks for a 125 dollar shaft.. I will look elsewhere from now on for my shaft purchasing needs.

It's better to get it from your local retail or fitting stores, if you don't need it rushed, becaue they normally have scheduled shipping from supplier, all you need to pay is the sales tax on top of the item tag.

Under 10% for tax is way better than paying those shipping rate.

Shipping costs are way up. I just sold some things recently and couldn't believe how much shipping charges had increased. I suspect higher fuel costs are behind much of the increase.

 

BTW, it's not just Golfsmith. Golfsupply.com, one of my favorite vendors, has had a big jump in shipping costs.

Tom Wells golf shop had been a long time favorite and they do carry more than a grip or two. But I had not been to their new shop since they moved from Green Lake area to Mukilteo .

Most of other area stores would be able to order what you want just call and ask for a quote on pricing.

I also know, Von's Golf in the University district, but Jim mostly do custom fitting and club making, not much into parts inventory, he does have very nice Grip Master leather putter grip in stock last time I was there.

Golf Happens, on the Eastside ( a tour van type of service ) that stops by Willows Run golf in the parking lot near the par 3 course every Wednesday and Thursday ( weather permitting ), best to call Duane before you stop by, he said he's taking a vacation to the South for a month or so.

Moe's golf in North Seattle, but I have not talked to Moe since the "Old Duffer's " days. I don't believe Moe carries a lot of inventory, he could do most if not all the services for your golfing need but no one carrys a load of inventory now.

InterBay Golf, South of Ballard had a good little golf shop in store, but I have not used their service yet.

Other store could order what you need, just not having the whole inventory on hands

wow u were robbed, i just looked at a recent invoice from them last month actually, i bought a shaft , two packs of ferrules , some epoxy and some grips and my shipping was 9.50 to NC

They charged me $70 to ship 10 shafts and god knows how many grips aswell as other goodies to the UK. I thought it was reasonable. Buy more, spread the shipping costs over those items, not so bad. Makes for expensive ferrules though :bb2:

Exactly that!

 

With GolfWorks you really need to buy more in order to bring the shipping costs up to snuff or to a point where it's beneficial for you, the consumer. I'm not saying you need to break the bank in order to consider buying from them but enough where it 'works'.

 

A couple 'o bags 'o ferrules ain't gonna cut it.

The costs of most shipping seems to have gone up considerably in the last 6-9 months. It has gotten so bad most online retailers have stopped shipping to Africa. In March I had a 3 wood and a rain jacket shipped for $50 , in August the same retailer declined to ship for a friend of mine as it was going to cost over $150m to ship a driver. Ouch!!!!
