DG XP115 vs DG Pro

I've moved to DG Pro X1 shafts in my longer irons (4-6) from X100 (soft-stepped) which are still in the 7-PW. I prefer the higher flighted launch of the DG Pro but still concerned that they are slightly heavier than I'd like, especially 4 and 5, also thinking about a 3 iron. I've also had a play around with soft stepped Tour Concepts X1 but would prefer a slightly higher launch.

 

XP 115 appear to be a good and cheapish option to try for a little lighter and higher launch but wanted I to see if anyone has any experience of comparisons with the DG Pro/X100's? I did notice that the XP115 shafts seem to have a similar step pattern to the DG Pro?!

 

If I was to go XP 115 any suggestions of whether to go straight in like my DG Pro or soft stepped like my X100 .... tending towards straight in?!

XP shafts as a family is higher launch than DG's. Realize though that launch depends on your swing way more than the shaft.

Bottom line is that the only way to know if the shaft will work for you is to trial it. Unless you are a high ball hitter now the XP will most likely be just fine.

Yes, hoping for higher launch than my X100's.

The DG Pro X1 are flighted and the long irons launch higher than X100 and very nicely but I just find them abit heavy when I'm not swinging great, abit tight/not properly warmed up or tired, so I was looking to go abit lighter and XP 115 stood out as an option.

My only concern and hence asking for anyone's experiences/advice is that when I've gone lighter in the past the shafts have either been way too spinny (Nippon 1150GH) or felt abit dead (DG 120 & 105). If I could get a DG Pro feel with abit less weight it would be a winner and was hoping X 115 might be those babies?!

XP115 is a very different shaft from DG. Quite a bit softer in flex than standard DG, if I had to guess I would say about a half flex softer than a KBS Tour. Feel is also different, S and X wouldn't be soft in the tip, but you can definitely feel the tip much more compared to DG. This is not the shaft for you if you are after the characteristic DG feel. Its a heavier, lower launching XP105, not a lighter, higher launching DG.

Not necessarily after the 'DG' feel as I want more kick/softer tip but without being too spinny. I'm Looking for more the 'DG Pro' feel which I find quite different from DG, a lot more kick, but still good. Any comparison to the DG Pro?

Xp115 straight in ALL day long

have them this way in my blueprints

i prefer these over std x100 and s400 ... which I played for years

I’m not a fan of the dg pro ... have them in my j15 musclebacks

the tour concept x1 I did not love, too much spin in mid and long irons ... in my ping s58’s back in the day
