New Tiger Woods Launch Monitor

Welp maybe it’s time I sell my GC Quad, this one looks like it utilizes Radar Tech and kinda want to make the shift over.

The console is $4k but I'm guessing the software packages will be quite pricey.  They couldn't tell me what those options were or what would be included for free in that $4k investment.

 

They also couldn't tell me what distance was needed for indoor use other than they think it'll need to be 7 to 9 feet behind the ball.  No idea on ball to net distance requirement.

 

This is supposedly radar AND camera, so best of both worlds but we'll see how it shakes out.  

 

Just funny to be taking orders yet have hardly any info available yet.

I’m just hoping there no subscription fee for cloud storage, the app integrations look pretty solid and I love on unit data with swing capture.

Based on their website having home launch rooms and putting greens from $40-65k plus, I'm guessing the added services will not be cheap.  

 

They have to pay Tiger (among many others) after all, and he's not cheap.

 

I'm hoping it's not but expecting this to wind up outside of my price range.

 

It's getting a little annoying with all these software options cost more than REAL golf.  I don't need 200+ courses for $3k or something.  Give me 3 courses for $400, then pay $100 for each additional course or something to that nature.  Too much greed from E6 and others.

Are you using yours indoors?  If so, why do you want to make the shift away from camera based?

The club data would be huge for the price point, I'd really think about selling my Mevo+ for this, depending on software pricing

No mainly use my outdoors actually. I just want an on screen display, and yes I know most of the other units work with Ipad

but that hassle alone outweighed getting TM4 over GCQuad.

Understood.  I'm the opposite right now, 95% of my usage is indoors.  Was thinking Skytrak but hate spending the money on tech that is probably almost a decade old.  Radar tech is hit or miss indoors.  I have a Mevo and its pretty solid but I need to know more about horizontal movement of the ball.  Was hoping something will come out of the PGA show coming up but not hearing much.

I think we are going to see a lot more competition and better monitors coming out.  There is a big market now, skytraks have been backordered all year.  With Covid and people going on less vacations everyone wants a garage or at home sim.

 

I'm hoping this means a lot more affordable options like this and the software hopefully won't be another 5k.

I'm getting read to buy a mevo+ when I saw this.  If it's really x2 as good, then it's worth it to me and I might wait.  But, they have no information on anything on their web site.  If they're really planning on shipping in a few months, I find it hard to believe that they can't show more details on what's being measured vs calculated, software integrations (and prices for those), etc.  More than likely I'm going to pull the trigger on a mevo+ because of their lack of communication.

Not the same product being talked about in here. That FAQ is about their simulators.

If it is $4K and nearly as accurate as the top dawgs then this is a steal.

I feel like the accuracy on most of these are pretty close as far as ball flight goes. The more expensive ones usually have the added ability to provide club data. That is really where you see a price jump. I don't think anyone is doing any real club data in the $4k range, so that will be very interesting to see.

I feel like the best monitor would be camera for club data and radar for ball data.  The better the radar the further it can track the ball in air.

I've seen a few comments that this is camera+radar based system but I don't think that's correct.  There is a camera in the unit but it sounds like it's only for recording your swing (and the position behind the ball wouldn't work for a camera system for tracking ball flight or impact data anyway).

Most LMs have a “normalization” or “range ball” selection to put out estimated numbers if using a quality ball. I would -assume- this would too.

Oh this is definitely a thing. It is happening. From what I hear it will be the most accurate launch monitor on the market besides Trackman. Also hear that it will cost between 4 and 6K.

You might want to check what you hear.

More accurate than GC Quad for $4k? I doubt it.
