Tour AD VR in a fairway

Does anyone have any experience with the GD Tour AD VR in a fairway? What kind of shaft is it most like? How does it compare to the IZ or a Blueboard profile?

Currently have it in a 3w and it is a little tighter feeling than either an IZ or a Blueboard profile. Flight is flatter as well. That release/slight hinge feeling is more evident up near the grip instead of along the midsection. IZ felt very artificial to me and launched very high although I only used it in a driver.

I have a vr 5 r1 tipped in a SZ 3 wood set at 16 degrees and it is very good.It replaced the AD fairway wood shaft .Nice flight and excellent roll but an expensive setup.My ss at 67 is only 88mph. so hence the VR 5R1 I have a IZ 4r1 in flash driver which I LOVE.

Thanks. I tried an IZ in a 3w and I didn't like it. I think it was tipped too much or the feel was just exactly as you described. I got a really good flight out of it but the feel was dead-ish. I like the idea of a tighter blueboard though. That's my one complaint with the S+ in my 3w right now. It plays great until I get a loosened up and I feel some of the looseness in the shaft. Interesting. I was able to acquire a VR for a very reasonable price so I was thinking of putting a tip on it for my 3w.

I have the vr in my 5 wood. I had the iz in my driver for a bit but it was the tx which won’t be a direct comparison.

I really like it. It’s almost like a more one piece di to me. It is similar to a blue board but feels a little tighter. I have it it my 5 wood because we have some 220-230 par 3s around here and it is just hop and stop with a nice high flight but not too high of that makes sense.

I just ordered this in a 3 wood for myself. I talked with GD before ordering and they said the VR is very very similar to the AD-TP profile (Which I have in my driver) but a little softer in the tip section. Ordered the VR in a Rogue ST LS 3 wood, looking forward for it to come!

Feels quite a bit softer than the TP. Tested the VR and my cousin has the TP in his driver. It makes a good fairway shaft for someone needing higher launch and more spin.
