His usage and confidence. I understand doing what works (i.e. running) but he has the ability to be a big time QB. Unfortunately he just doesn't seem to be the most confident passer. Thankfully he has/had people like Kittle, Sanders, and Deebo. Looking forward to a great season in 2020!

To me it's not a confidence issue. I think the only thing that keeps him from going to the next level is just seeing the field and his tendency to lock onto a WR or route pre-nap. When he see's the field he is very very good. His missed plays in the SB 4th q were all vision issues IMO. Only his first full season as a starter so I think he will continue to show improvement, he has a great staff with a proven QB friendly track record.

I also think Hurd has potential to be a big time third down and RZ threat to help balance out Kittle being locked onto by JG and defenses. Can't wait to see how he gets mixed into the scheme.

Not sure on how much you all are keeping up on the draft. Isaiah Simmons looks like a generational talent at LB. Whomever gets him is getting a cornerstone IMO.

Niners are in a pretty unique/good spot for having a pretty filled out roster, coming off a superbowl appearance and then also two 1st one being top 15. I dont really think we need to acquire more picks just for the sake of it, especially if were looking at two bluechip players that we can infuse in the roster. We dont have that many needs/holes and with Lynch who has shown quite the ability to turn late rounders into contributors we dont need to just add picks just because.

For 13: I can see letting the board come to us, and potentially WR/CB/DL/OT all being on the table depending who falls. Lamb/Jeudy/Ruggs could all be in play here at wr, as well as one of the top OTs like Wirfs or Wills. Add in Kinlaw/Brown on the DL or Fulton/Henderson as CBs. Could basically have our pick at the top rated dude at one of these positions or be in a spot to ravage a team that wants to move up and ensure a QB that may have dropped past 10.

For 31: Depending what the first pick was, could just fill in with one of those spots left. Reagor at WR may be there, Blacklock at IDL, Gladney at CB (TCU had some good players this year) or could infuse the IOL with somebody like Ruiz or Cushenberry.

This is exactly why I would try to get OBJ with the 31st pick and a 3rd or something. Frees up the ability to draft something other then WR at 13 and you walk away from draft day with two day one starters in OBJ and whomever you take at 13 (ideally a corner IMO). OBJ is owed nothing after this season, as long as it doesn't conflict with Kittles deal I think the gamble of losing the 31st pick and OBJ is a lot safer bet then any WR needed at 13. I am dead set in believing WR is the biggest need for this squad. OBJ YAC ability in Shannahan's offense would be dynamic.

OBJ hasnt been the OBJ we know since he went to Cleveland. Id be really leery tossing 31, and another pick along with taking on whatever salary you have to pay him on an already lean cap with some big players we need to pay in the near future. OBJ def isn't a vet min kind of guy, and its hard to imagine we just made the call to let Manny walk only to trade high draft capital and then pay OBJ? Just doesnt seem in the cards for our window at the moment.

Seems much more logical to take advantage of one of the deepest and quality WR drafts in a while, and nab a dude for dirt cheap and potentially 5 years and have them grow with Deebo, Kittle and JG.

I worded that wrong, I am saying Niners get OBJ and a 3rd for the 31st. Niner's currently do not have any day two picks to even give up. No way I would give up the 31st and another early pick for him. I don't think he is dead by any means, I think he still is the same player of a few years ago. One season cut short from injury, really bad QB play and schemes have slowed him. The chances of getting a 5 year player at number 31 are very very slim, the chances of getting a starter at 31 are slim. It can happen, it just does not happen very often.

i'd be shocked if the 2020 season starts on time. likely they push it back and play a full season or play a shortened season, cut preseason short, etc...

If its a 1st rounder you got them on lock for 5 years, whether they are good or not and you want them that long is dependent on the situation lol. I mean if youre spending a 1 on a player, you are expecting them to be a starter or at the very least on a strong roster, contributor. Niners dont have the emphasis of desperately needing a 1st rounder to come in and start, but they have a few spots where they could use some contributions for sure.

No way in the world is OBJ and the drama surrounding him worth a 1 year rental for the 31st pick in my opinion

Normally I would be excited for the draft this time of year. However, the fact that the season will likely be altered, delayed, shortened, or otherwise is definitely taking away from it.

I am looking forward to the draft. Won't be nuts crazy with to much going on.....commercials, interviews, hugs and the announcers get like one or two lines to give their opinions on the pick. Should have in depth analysis this draft instead of crap it had become. To much hat and not enough fact.

I can't wait to see how the Lions screw this 3rd pick up. I'd be happy with Odukah but I have such a feeling they're going to do something dumb like totally botch a trade or take Tua as a flashy pick.
