The logo is a few pages back on the thread.  Sceap Leah is the Old English from which my name is derived.  Literally it means a 'clearing or meadow where sheep are kept'.  There is a town in Yorkshire UK named Shepley and in Medieval times, people would often carry the name of their village as a surname.

My girls asked to play on the green after school today.  For now all I have done is give them a putter and shown them how to hold onto it.  My youngest is 4 years old and my oldest is 8 years old.  It's funny...you give a putter to a kid and eventually they find a way to get the ball in the hole.

 

Hannah's attempt, (pretty sure the stroke is illegal but...she's 4 so....)

 

Clara's attempt.  I've been taking Clara to the course a few times each summer for the past few seasons and she is starting to get the hang of it.

Thanks!  Winter time here now though so you'll have to wait until spring.  I did get my snow mold treatment on and yesterday we got 9" of snow so my timing was pretty good.  Today I put the snow blower on the tractor.

Not much activity going on around the home course these days given that it's winter and we have a cover of snow.  I have a friend who works for a small promotional company that makes custom buttons.  Before Christmas I ordered some small buttons kind of as a gag because they weren't very expensive.  He threw in a few without the pins on the back and also a few with magnets on the back.  I'm thinking these would make decent ball markers.  Next up will be to find a local company who can stitch the logo into a couple golf shirts and perhaps a bag towel.....the things we do to pass time.....

Winter is tough on northern golfers. I learned how to build clubs to pass time in the winter back when I live in the snow belt.

I retreated my green for snow mold after the snow melted. Cleared out more trees for better airflow. Just a waiting game now until better weather

What cut height do you leave it at for the winter?

did my final cut before thanksgiving at .125 

treated with 5 oz proxy to help eliminate poa 

it had continue to to grow since last cut

and this weekend A squirrel got in my shed and tried to it granular fungicide

so the remainder of the granular went on for snow mold (ocd)

Nice.  I didn't get down to 0.125 since I ended up fighting cut worm and then got into some dew worm issues.  I finished the season at about 0.187 and actually did my last cut the first week of November because it was 17C and I had a friend drop by for some pitch and putt.  I'm hopeful I can get to 0.125 next summer.  There has been snow on my green since before Christmas but I did manage to get it treated for snow mold before that.  We have had some thaw / freeze cycles, so I'm hoping everything is okay and trying not to worry much.

Should be ok. I haven t had issues with freeze thaw. Just don’t want an ice rink on top

Any guesses when opening day might be?  Four weeks??  I'm really hoping that I'll see grass by Paddy's Day at least so I can toast my green with a pint of Guinness.

Same, I found the snow pic beautiful. Even though I'm with @DShepleyand want the stuff to melt so I can get on the course. Now that I think about it though, I took a lesson and found a pretty big swing fault, so maybe I need a little more time to get that worked out.

Totally unrelated to my green, but exciting none the less....I finally got my 2020 Masters poster back from the framer.  Since I expect 2020 will be the only November Masters, in my mind, this was one of the best souvenirs from last year.  Now to find a spot to hang it.
