Another eBay Q - Unconfirmed PP address

I've been selling a few items on eBay and 2 buyers do not have confirmed PP addresses. Of course, they have some lame excuses - how do you deal with this situation? The only thing I can think of is "Direct signature requirement" when I ship the items at FedEx. Any other suggestions?

That's what I'd recommend. If I'm the least bit suspicious or even not, just selling a higher dollar item, I do signature confirmation. It's worth the extra $1.50 or $2.00 to be that much safer.

i dont think your going to be protected thru paypal even with signature because its not confirmed address. i wouldnt do it there are to many crooks out there.
what are the items you sold that will help some

It is hit or miss really, I believe my address is still unconfirmed because I don't have my checking account attached to my Paypal account- only a credit card.

If it's a reasonable excuse, I think it's "reasonable." I've been a PayPal user for years, but since I've moved out of the states about 2 years ago I couldn't confirm my address anymore because I'm using overseas credit cards. Do I sound suspicious? Lame? I dare you to check out my feedback on recent transactions on eBay. Everything's been "Fast payment" with no issues at all. What I'm saying is some people are still legit even they don't have confirmed addresses. But of course as a seller you need some protection as well. First of all, payer's name has to match with the recipient's name. Do signature confirmation. If you are still unsure, have the buyer faxed you his/her credit card statement and utility bill and do a cross check.

Are your buyers from the US?
Cause there are no confirmed addresses outside the US...

All items were golf clubs and the buyers are in U.S. I exchanged a couple of e-mails with one buyer and he sounded pretty legit and the 2nd buyer has been quiet but as I ship out my items very quick, I decided to taked chances on the 2nd one as it is not an expensive item. Let's see how this goes.

Just an FYI, I live in Toronto and my family lives in Rochester NY, I get everything shipped there to save on brokerage fees, duties etc. Same goes with a few of my buddies. Address in NY is not confirmed due to my bank account and credit card not having a US address. I suggest in those situation send an email to the buyer ask for home phone number or work email etc If the person is scamming they won't be too open with that information..... I however a good buyer with good feedback would give you any info to make you more comfortable and get the deal done, specially if its a new club that I'm itching to hit...haha

One possibility is the shipping versus credit card billing/bank account address not matching. It happens in our case because billing, bank statements, etc. go to our P.O. box. If an item is shipping UPS or FedEx, we have to use our house address and that will show up as "unconfirmed".

Just to clarify, UK, US and Canadian addresses can be confirmed but not ROW.

I do not have a confirmed addy. My credit card is linked to my e-bay account but not my checking account. Why? Better dispute resolution though my CC then my bank.
