So what do you guys do in your spare time - besides the obvious.....GOLF ?

I play tennis, go to the gym and run two times a week

I often wonder what you guys do in your spare time, when not playing golf :clapping:

I try to play golf at least twice a week during the summer season from April to October. From October to March, I only play golf once every week, and most often in an inddor golf simulator, because of the weather.

This leaves room for other interests and sports.....tell us what you do in your spare time, when not paying golf. It doesn't have to be another sport related interest - everything counts :clapping:

Personally I play tennis and love this sport - almost as much as I love golf. Just bought 3 of the great Wilson K Factor KSix-One 95 (18X20) and they play awesome. Not the pure blades of tennis, that would be the K Factor KSix-One Tour racket, which Roger Fererer plays with, but almost the blades of tennis - I guess you could call them "The cut muscle Mizuno Mp-32 of golf... :clapping: Very precise and controllable racket with a lot of feel to it and great for volleys too :beach:

I try to play tennis once a week during the summer season, where I play and practice golf twice a week. During the winter season, it's the other way around for me. Tennis twice a week and golf once a week (indoor golf simulator). To stay in good shape, I workout in the gym twice a week all year round - run for 20-25 minutes and then workout with weights and do stretch exercises and ab crunches for 1 hour.

This is all I have time for in my spare time.......besides hanging out with friends, drinking a lof of fancy beer and great red wine :drinks: ;) :beach:

and in the summer, out by the pool

And not that it takes that much time, but good food and good wine! I typically stick to the California Cabs.

This is why I had hoped more guys would put an answer in this thread to tell us about what they do in their lives besides playing golf

GOLF 90% and I go to the gym. I try to lift 4x per week, and i swim about 2000m a day, 3x per week.

If I'm not golfing I am taking my daughter to one of her golf tournaments, practice round, coach, etc...

My main interest outside of golf is paintball. Almost all of my friends ball as well. I try to play as often as possible, but most friends are tight on cash and time so that's usually twice a month. During the winter the format is exclusively indoor speedball (inflateable bunkers) and during the warmer months a mix of woodsball and indoor speedball (though 80% woodsball).

In the summer, I coach 2 of my daughter's softball teams and caddy for my 12 yr old son in his junior golf program. In the winter, I coach the kid's basketball teams. Thru out the year I do DJ work and create
custom dance remixes for various pom and dance squads in the area.

I'm still in high school, for what it's worth, so take this response with a grain of salt.

Outside of golf I tend to spend most of my time doing schoolwork (damn IB and AP classes ), frequenting various websites such as this fabulous one in addition to all of the usual teenager ones such as Facebook, and hanging out with or talking to my girlfriend ( ), partying on the weekends, driving around late at night, all of those good things.

Workouts can wait - my metabolism still actually works.

(although I do a fair bit of riding an exercise bike in the winter as well as lifting small weights, crunches and situps, those type of things)

Well, the last couple of years, when it's been golf season, I golf a lot. Anywhere from 2-5 times a week as long as the temperature is above 60. I use to play tennis a lot. I play on my college tennis team for 4 years, but all my friends are golfers and I haven't found any descent competition since I graduated from college and have mostly stopped playing.

My friends and I use to all play paintball in highschool. We all recently got back into it. We play woodsball 90% of the time, but sometimes we'll get bored and rent out a speedball field. I play with a Smart parts Ion, mostly stock, with a Halo B hopper and a pure energy compressed air tank. Since most of the people I play paintball with are the same people I golf with, most of the paintball is played during the spring and fall. We do play in the winter if it's around 30*F or warmer.... and yes..... frozen paintballs hurt.

I live in upstate NY, so the winters are pretty cold here. I play golf on a simulator about once every 4-6 weeks. Aside from that, I hate to admit, but I play quite a lot of video games. I don't like to watch tv and need almost constant entertainment, so that's what I revert to when it's just too cold to be outside. Most recently, I've been playing Halo 3, Mass Effect and Tiger Woods '08 for xbox 360.

I use to lift almost religiously when I was in college, outside of practices. However, now that I'm in the real world, after I get home from work in the afternoon, the last thing I'm thinking about it hitting the gym. It's usually hitting the golf course or the couch. I have started working out again though;easing into it. Running once a week and lifting once a week. Eventually be back at my lift 3 times a week run twice a week routine.

I have a friend that just e-mailed and said he got a Wii and the Tiger Woods game. He said that his normal slice shows up on the game as well as the real course. I guess the controller is pretty sensitive?!

I live in Philly so the thing to do in the summer time is to get a shore house in NJ. My friends and I usually get a house in Avalon. There are some nice courses to play down there too, but when we're not playing golf we're usually on this:

Well, when it's fall I am a volunteer assistant High School Football Coach, the season is 10 weeks long and the team I am a helping with has been very fortunate in the fact that they have made the playoffs 14/17 years, with 7 state championships. In addition to coaching I try to workout 4-5 times a week. I try to play golf about once a week in the winter weather permitting. I am also in the process of remodeling my house this winter so I spend a lot of time on that as of now. I also play on an adult league basketball team, which we play one game a week for 2 months. So basically other than golf I try to stay fit and in shape.

And when I get back home to New Zealand every couple of months I play with this...

 

400 wheel HP and 2600ish pounds makes for some fun around a race track and extra fun at Hillclimb events ;) ( I turn right so its twice as much fun as NASCAR ) ha ha
