Mack Made Putter Review

He definitely does his own covers and they’re really cool. I don’t know about grips now, but he didn’t do his own before. What model are you doing?

99.9% My Jewel….1% of me likes the tribute as it’s blade but slightly different than the dozens of anser 2 shapes on the market

The My Jewel shape is sick. It's slightly wider than a traditional anser from front to back but is still very blade looking. I can not remember the measurements off hand but I want to say it was about 5 mm wider than my old newport. 

 

As for headcovers and grips; I got one of the JD style covers. Typically he stocks Lamkin Deep Etch and maybe a leather from Best Grips. I did see an IG story though that looked like some custom Mack Made rubber grips. 

 

 

Keep us posted on the build. @josey is top notch. Can't say enough about my build with him.

It seems as if the Tribute shape is more original comparing to Anser 2 than Jewel to Anser. Would you agree with that?

Update haha starting to like gramps and Stubbs just for their uniqueness and I have had heel Shaft success before..and one have Stubbs or Gramps?

Just got my putter delivered today and can’t say enough good things about @josey and the whole Mack Made experience. Reached out in early February, put my deposit down, and about 9 weeks later I have my dream putter in hand. Waiting after putting down your deposit can be nerve wracking for some, but once you get the “design time” text it’s go go go until delivery day.  Josey reached out to me on March 25th fwiw, not even two weeks ago. This is my first ever custom putter build so I don’t have previous experience with other outfits but all I can say is that communication is top notch, and Josey is very receptive to changes and specific details. We found out quickly that the initial idea I had in my head wasn’t going to work out and Josey was very patient as I changed and considers different designs, stamps, color fills, etc… What I can say however is that the finished product came out better than I could have ever imagined. As with most custom jobs, the designs and stamps carry special meaning for the owner and this piece of art perfectly encapsulates what I was trying to achieve. That said, I also wanted the craftsmanship to take center stage and not be overshadowed by the stamps, frills, and flair. I even gave Josey free range on the color of the head and the neck. And he knocked it out of the park. Elegant, classy, simple. 
 

As for feel, I’ve only rolled about a couple dozen putts indoors but the putter squares up perfectly. I asked for 365gm. and with a tour stability shaft the feel and balance is fantastic. The milling is light and I had to go with the herringbone. Can’t wait to get this thing on the course next week. Already thinking about my next Mack Made build…

Carbon. Just fyi, this being the case it's going to need some special maintenance to prevent rust.

I put my deposit in with him 3 weeks ago..he’s been amazing, I’m incredibly annoying lol..already changed everything like 3 times and he’s been so good and communicative. Im Still trying to get a finish I like

It also seems like one of his face designs is very similar to Ping Sigma G thing like with the variable face? Is that accurate or just looks Similar lol

I've been basically saying the flow/slant neck is an awesome looking neck and you can get the same specs as a plumbers neck too. 

 

I hope there is a surge of putters with these necks too.

I had an order for Mack Made…long story short..had to cancel it. It would have been done right around now..reason I’m posting is for the 4-5 weeks I had one ordered..he was EXTREMELY good at communication and will let you customize anything or go with any idea. He is great.

I was about a 10 week wait for me, then less than a week to iron out details and build it.  He did have to send it out for the cerakote finish but that only added another week to the build.  I sure hope he can keep up the great customer service as he grows, it made the whole process that much better.  Imo, one of the best putter makers out there.

I put my deposit down about a month ago.  Have been going through MackMades, Bettinardi, Lajosi and others Instagram accounts looking for inspiration.  Have a general idea of what I want but am having trouble narrowing down all the details.  Might just let Josey have a lot of artistic freedom and take my general ideas to the next level.

That's an issue I'm finding with a lot of putter makers there are just so many options it's overwhelming at times. I think what I may start doing is give the putter makers some ideas, keep the look at address and specs mine and have them have fun with the rest. They know their putters and styles best.
