Compass Golf putters

Nobody besides Mike knows what goes on inside his head haha...I hope he's alright. He gave me back some money when he sent me my putter due to the mistakes/differences between the putter I received vs. what I had ordered. I offered to pay him the full amount if he wanted to take the putter back, make the adjustments, and ship it back to me.

 

He reached out to me a few weeks ago and sent this email:

 

"I am currently finishing up the last couple putters in my queue. I was a bit delayed on recent orders due to machine issues, so I haven’t been taking in any new orders while I was getting caught up. I am ready to take your putter back and adjust some of the things we had miscommunications about before.

 

Since the queue would be starting fresh, the leadtime will be 6 weeks or less."

 

He recently started a new job, so that might've been why he was distracted from Compass Golf lately. Because he emailed me, I assumed this meant he was ready to roll and Compass Golf Co was back in a good place...but within two weeks of that email, he shut down his website, and he hasn't replied since. So strange. I hope his new job has taken off and things are going well for him!

Update!!  I heard from him yesterday after more than 4 weeks from my first message to him.  He did apologize for the delay in getting back to me and said he was having domain issues and not getting emails from his website.  He sent me some photos regarding the questions I had and it appears things are moving forward.  The photo he send me included a stock putter like I ordered without the paintfill.  We'll see how long it takes,  he still didn't answer my question on timing so I still don't know how long it'll take or what else he is working on.  I did not end up pursing a refund request through paypal because I was holding on to hope it was just poor communication as I really wanted to get a putter from him.

Glad to hear he’s back.  Love both the heads I have from him.  Think I’m going into year 4 with my tiger rep from him. I’ve had multiple people try and buy it off me on putting greens at tournaments.

has anyone had any more recent experiences in the past few months with compass in regards to response time, turnaround time, etc?

His website doesn't exist and he hasn't posted in over a year on his IG. He's most likely done, go to someone else.

fwiw i reached out a while back and it seems like true custom work isn't a thing anymore, but he was willing to take on a super simple (minimal custom work) version of a stock model. i suppose based on other comments here it's a matter of when (and hopefully not if)!

as an update, did get this done! Again, it sounded to me like all that's being offered is a version of the stock atwood, but who knows haha.

Glad to see he delivered.  The nicks on the shaft would irk me some but the head it self looks great

Oh i only asked for the head-- i had the shaft from my previous gamer put onto this one and it seems it didn't go in as deep.. bummer! Bothers me a bit too so am wondering what my options are haha. Happy to report it's not on compass

the one on your profile pic is a compass putter right? is that current gamer? how's it been treating you? literally had a second child as soon as i received mine so it may be a while before i can actually test on course..
