On the topic of buying grips, does anyone know when Lamkin stopped selling grips? I liked their sales and tour van - I have been stocked up for grips and need to start looking soon, but curious when they stopped selling grips directly on their own site. Anyone here have the background?

I know a lot of people on here don't like them, but if you play midsized - the ss tx1 are $1.99 each at golfworks. I just bought 10 and I actually like them. Hard to beat for the money.

Great that you like them! And you can't beat the price if they work out.

I thought they were embarrassingly bad. So much for competing with NDMC at that price point. :)

Definitely a different feel from the NDMC. They're softer to me but definitely not as tacky. I like the compound on the bottom. Normally a Lamkin player and the bottom feels like the rel ace to me. I have only had them on for a month or so, but I've had no problem with slipping. I would prefer the Lamkin utx, but for the money I'll use these until I catch them on sale again.

My hands are dry, and they rarely sweat, so for me, I have to choose a rubber compound that won't be too harsh on my hands. I've found that anything with cord, or heck, even tour velvet, does a number on my hands.

I think golf pride hit a home run with their CP2 grips, and if I didn't go through gear like your average wrx'er I would be gaming them. Although not an expensive grip, they are expensive if you're having to put them on 50 clubs each season. Taking my sensitive hands into consideration and price, that's why I stick to EPDM rubber grips (think Pure grips). The pure pro is pricey and has this unusually big butt end - I like how they feel, I just don't like the feeling on the top hand with such a thick butt. My go-to's now a days are Star Grips.... they're EPDM rubber grips (soft but not mushy), and they're very tacky, last forever, and cheaper than most (although they're getting near my threshold). I'm always on the lookout for any Star Grip deals on golfworks or ebay.

I ended up grabbing some Z-Cords. I played that grip all last year and really liked it for the heat of the summer. I went in with a friend and purchased 24 together and used a $50 off $250 coupon I had through Dicks. It ended up being $8.94 a grip which is a bit higher than I wanted but those are the grips my friend wanted too so I went that direction.

Simple solution here my friend...use air to blow them on! Then when you ho...I mean switch clubs out, blow them off and onto the new clubs!

I actually do blow them on myself as EPDM grips are exceptionally easy at blowing on. Problem is, when I sell clubs, you need grips, otherwise the discount you have to apply to gripless clubs is more than the grips would have been!

Picked up a bunch of the new grey/black ones (all the Lamkin makes now) on Bonanza for $6/grip free shipping. Best deal I could find that was not ebay.
