FUJIKURA PRO XLR8 SHAFT

Just curious if anyone has played, or is playing this shaft. Heard a lot of good things about it, and can get one pretty cheap on ebay. looking to try-one possibly in my ping g410+ driver. any feedback greatly appreciated.Thanks

Great shaft. My favorite from the Pro "1.0" line. I believe there was an XLR8 in the SIX line as well.

Came stock in the Cobra F7 line (black/grey paint scheme) and also in the Mizuno JPX900 for ladies.

It's my wife's favorite shaft for her woods as well.

For $20 on ebay uncut and new it's a cool shaft to test out - I have an uncut X flex sitting in spare right now waiting to be tested.

Do you know if it plays true to flex? Getting a little older(56) and swing speed averages around 96. So can't decide between stiff or regular. Really want to try one. On fujikura's web site, they compare it to the Ventus blue.

Not sure about the "softer" ones as far as true to flex, but I just did a 71-X for a long hitter friend on a budget. He had been playing smoke black, was launching too low. He loves the pro xlr8, has it in a TS3. The graphics are sweet too. Definitely anecdotal evidence, but for $50 uncut it was a great alternative to the $350 7X ventus blue he was fit into.

Any one know if it is ok to tip trim a counter balanced shaft? or will it effect more than just the stiffness. Thanks!

IMO they are true to flex - MAYBE - 1/3 flex soft but not in a way you'll need to go up a flex or anything. Theyre easy to load.

Gamed one from a F7 a few years back. Decent shaft but its a made for and not the strongest shaft in the world out there. I never swung a 'true' XLR8 line shaft and the made for felt OK but a bit on the flimsy side. For < $40, killer deal regardless.

I have the real XLR8 in my G400 LST...combo has been in my bag for 3 years and isn't going anywhere!! Stiff flex works well with my 102 ss. Does not play stout and counterbalance works for my swing. I have 2 spares at home too!

The real deal, (not 'made for' as found often in Cobra heads) which are in the yellow graphics and in weights 61, 71, 81 etc are really nice shafts. Fairly easy to load, so perhaps feels abit soft to some but plays more true to flex than it feels to me. There is abit of lively kick through the ball which feels really powerful. The whole Pro line is very good from what I've hit.

what weight do you play in yours? Ever want to sell one of the spares?
