Plattsburgh Air Force Base is a former United States Air Force Strategic Air Command (SAC) base covering 3,447 acres (13.7 km²) in the extreme northeast corner of New York, located on the western shore of Lake Champlain opposite Burlington, Vermont, in the city of Plattsburgh, New York. The base closed on 25 September 1995, pursuant to the Defense Base Realignment and Closure Act of 1990 (10 U.S.C. The base featured KC-135 air refueling tankers and FB-111 fighter jets that were stationed here from the early 70's until the closure.

So as I said a few days ago I would be playing after work with 2 newly hired caddies. The head pro said he and all 4 of his assistants were slammed with lessons in the afternoons all week and said these fellas have to get out on the course before the weekend. Could you host them and give them the ins and outs about the course and greens LP? I gladly accepted and to me it was proof that finally after a few seasons on the course I'm thought of as a decent player and have some cred around that snooty place. Right on, and that will bring even more unique playing opportunities this year I am sure. It was a hoot out there with Ryan and Dave from Wisconsin. I had no idea what cards I was being dealt being set up with two guests/strangers. I got an Ace and a King!!!  🤩  I took some good photos and even got both their swings on video. Fun stuff coming soon. These two got out out U of W. and have been caddying and playing around for a couple years following the completion of college. They work at Erin Hills in the summer and Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, FL. in the winter. Both were baller players. I gave the hole's description on each tee, and greens info standing in the fairways prior to our approach shots. I was a tour guide this afternoon for a special 100 year old Donald Ross design which was being awed at around each new bend by the cool caddie boys from Wisconsin.

as you can see only our leader and our rarely heard from doctor evaded having a player miss the cut. You also can see that I was the only participant with a PAIR of CUTS. Not your best work chef as I certainly can pull that move off by myself. 😅

It was a blind draw as to who I would be playing with and showing the ropes of the course to. I had envisioned a pair of brought up in C.C. life college aged lads. NOPE I landed Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. They had no range time. They putted for 10 minutes and we were off at 2:45.

 

On the first tee I said probably something pretty close to this. 

Welcome gentleman, I am LP (real name Lawrence but lp please) and I am happy to be your playing host today. I am starting my 4th season at BFCC. I will give you some solid knowledge on how this course is best played as I understand you both might be caddies here this summer. This classic Donald Ross design turns 100 years old next year. I'll tell you now that after the round you will look back on this place with great fondness. Please don't miss the plaque on the stairs up to the 2nd tee. Hogan said it was the best par 4 on Tour. 

Then I take a deep breath and pause .

 

now that is out of the way let me be me. I love golf boys. I started playing this fantastic game my sophomore year in H.S. back in St. Louis. Four decades it's been for this old man. I am a 7 'cap and will be playing the whites. Please feel free to drink, cuss, and or get high. Because starting now it's game on and there will be no more formal or faked mannerly expressions. Nope, it's about three passionate golfers playing one of the best courses in this part of the state. Then I juiced a pure 3 wood center cut down one fairway. They of course hit irons from the tips. Dave and Ryan were players and that was obvious early.
