Well happy birthday old buddy. 50 huuh? you are a spring chicken. Nice sticks--- Back is so so I quit playing in the scrambles because I was hitting at it too hard and killing myself. Went to playing a couple of 9 hole rounds with my older blades and persimmon woods. It has been cool here the last two weeks so it will be two weeks tomorrow since I hit a ball. My back tends to lock up in the cool and damp weather. The Doc thinks I may have nerve damage in my back can not get an appt until 2021 if then

Actually sorta stumbled upon the combo set idea when the cb 1006  5 iron bounced across floor due to being dropped prior to build😕, spoke with a very trusted Miura dealer and came up with the combo idea, really seamless transition. 
 

The cb 1006 is a phenomenal iron, think Miura feel with shape of Titleist 990b. I actually couldn’t find a suitable full set of CB57, so went with these, seems we have pretty similar club preferences👍🏻

LOL from what I gathered you have been like me using mismatched ratty covers--- Well I sorta strayed my wife bought me a set of red white and blue pom pom covers for a get well gift back in July. She did well because they will match either my old school Burton Mini Staff or my non stand Jones Classic. Yep for the first time in 30 years or more I have matching head covers

ST190 is a great fairway head. I find a deeper face feels a bit easier to go after...to my eyes a shallow face means easy to sky and top. I've got the same head in my 3w playing at 16* also, the Mizuno heads sit very open at standard loft so at +1 it sits dead square for me. Nice gear and great pics.

Absolutely my experience with the st190 TS, at +1, mine still sits at 2* open, pretty much ideal to my preferences. Tried the TSI2 16.5* set at -.75 and it was still slightly closed to me and definitely too shallow in appearance to generate a great deal of confidence for me off the tee.

The Double D irons are hands down THE greatest cast irons of all time and amongst the greatest irons, period.

 

That said, the MG's are sweet and soft👌🏼

You're always in my thoughts and Prayers and I don't know how much use I'd be on the course any more however I'd love to head down yours, Mitch's and Blade's way and gettin Card's involved would be good for another story for my notebook, hahaha

   Lol. Yep. Currently have an m1 cover on a sim max. And a odd TM cover on a Rbz 3 wood.  I once played a few rounds with a kids small wool sock on a 2 iron.

How's it stack up against the TEE?

How is the feel/sound compared to the Double D's?

All’s well here, spend a lot of my time at work trying to encourage and calm folks.

 

Glad the st190 made her smile, between the shaft and how well face performs when occasionally miss lower on face, it’s really a great club. Maddie absolutely has great taste, well in most areas 😂👊🏻Quick story there, friend that is a big equipment junkie had this one and couldn’t hit it for 💩, was complaining that wasn’t solid...blah, blah. I asked to give it a whirl and promptly hit a shot that was an absolute laser to close range from an absurd distance😂 It’s just as good as the Exotics, just hit it a bit flatter trajectory when needed, nice to have options. 
 

The Miura Giken change came about as a result of wanting to test some Nippon shafts for better flight on longer irons compared to the 962b w/s400. Remembered how much liked my old Miura forged X300fci reduced offset protos, so decided to see what could put together that would like as much with conforming grooves and contacted a well known Miura source and came up with some options. After hit a couple with  these to confirm if would work, full on involuntary club twirl was in effect, so figured had a winner😃Feel, sound, and feedback is very solid and muted, typical Miura and just as fast in and out of turf as the 962b.

Down in Pawleys for a week starting Dec 29 .. then will drive to Panhandle .. if anyone wants to play

 

It will need to be 3 days in .. haven’t touched a club in a month and right now I am in the middle of painting every surface on the upstairs of my house after my painters bailed.  My old man body is seizing up

I may not be able to play I am still healing up-- Can hit balls some only good for 6 holes or so playing my own ball. Still can not get much speed up only hitting driver 190 or so and a 5 iron about 150. I hurt myself playing the weekly scramble about 3 weeks ago my own fault swinging too hard. Laid off 3 weeks. Started back Wednesday wedges only about 25 balls. Thursday worked up to the 9 iron about 30 balls. Got up to the 7 today about 40 balls gave out got stiff went home.

I like how you’ve applied the lead tape to your Zing 2.  Always liked that putter, but they just felt too light.  I think I may have to give that a try.

Driver- TSI2 10* surefit set on c2 with Ventus Red 7s at 44.75” with blackout NDMC, grip logo up and +2 left, +3 right, SW d3.5 (2.3g of neutral hotmelt)

 

Fairway- TSI2 16.5* surefit set on d2 with Fujikura 8.1s (Speeder Evolution 869 paint), at 42.5”, grip set to same size as driver (required some extra buildup due to differences in shaft butt diameter w/ Ventus) SW d3.7 😀

For me, the TSI3 was very long due to lower spin. The lower spin caused some difficulty on shots where attempting to hit a bit of a push-draw if favored toe side contact at all, resulting in a bit of hook that tended to lose a bit of carry. In order to attempt to counteract that, played face in a more open setting with weight favoring toe...although results were much better, was not a fan of change in feel when moved weight from neutral position. I am fortunate enough to have a good friend at a retail establishment that was able to help me select a TSI2 head and match up specs with a favorite 910d3 head and older Fujikura shaft. I then paired a Ventus Red 7s with the TSI2 based upon a recommendation from @Fujikura Golf and hit the distance and trajectory window I like to see with an incredibly stable club. For me, switch to TSI2 was more about consistent performance without walking tightrope of spin getting too low to score on occasional slight miss. Personally feel that too many players get enamored with launch monitor numbers and chasing the occasional “bombed” drive over finding clubs that allow consistently better numbers on scorecard- off soapbox now 😀

After an evaluation of my game with longer irons brought about by playing in a bit more wind lately, decided to swap away from combo idea and go to full set of Miura Giken cb 1006. This should allow me to flight some longer irons down without making a separate adjustment compared to rest of irons.
