Palm Springs - Week after Thanksgiving

I am heading out there the week after Thanksgiving for the first time looking for recommendations on courses to play.  I am staying right by Terra Lago, but will have a car and am willing to drive a decent way to play.  I am a ClubCorp member so I can play Mission Hills / Indian Wells / Desert Falls twice each for just the cart fee.  Which courses are the better ones at Mission Hills / Indian Wells?  Apparently there is a discount available for Rams Hill as well, is that worth the drive?

 

Probably will try and play 7 days in a row, possibly 36 some days if I can get enough daylight. 

 

Other recommendations for public courses?

I think both courses are IW are good tracks. I personally dislike both of the Mission Hills courses. I would look at play Desert Willow. Other issue you may have is Oct-Dec is when most courses  overseed. So maybe that have 2 courses one will be shut down or opening back up from the overseed.

Rams Hill is definitely worth it.  So many good courses near you (Eagle Falls, IW -both, Shadow Ridge, Classic Club, PGA West, etc...) that your problem is deciding what to play and how often. 

 

As mentioned, you need to check out the overseeding schedule as that will be the problem.  Do not play a course just coming out of overseeding as you will experience longish grass and wet conditions (cart path only).

How long from reopening from over-seed do you recommend waiting?

I'll be out there week of Thanksgiving, and I see on PGA West website that they're closed for overseeding on the following schedule.

Stadium 10/1-10/22

Nicholas Tournament 10/1-10/22

Norman 10/22-11/12

La Quinta Mountain 10/15-11/5

La Quinta Dunes 9/24-10/15

 

Curious how long until they're in a good playable shape? Seems to me that Stadium, Nicholas Tourney, LQ Dunes will all be more than fine, with LQ Mountain pretty close, no?

To be clear in terms of club corp the courses are Indian Wells Country Club (not resort) and Mission Hills Country Club (not Westin Mission Hills Courses). 
 

IMO the best of the club corp courses is the Missions Hills Dina Shore Course where the women play the ANA major. I’ve played all the mission hills courses along with the Indian Wells courses and Desert Falls. I like them all. Desert Falls is a nice change of pace sometimes because it’s not really a desert course with native areas.

Also, not sure what the club corp deal is at Rams Hill but that’s a great course. I’d play there if you can. Little bit of a drive but I thought it was worth it.

I would likely be looking at 2 weeks after removing the cart paths only restriction.

If the Mission Hills Dinah Shore Course is not a "must play", then it is very, very close. But for my book, it is a must play.
