Arccos Shots not being Tracked

Wow - Arccos is a love hate relationship for me.  I love the system - when it works, but I think they must not put much time and effort into testing it.  The missed shots are awful; and their app has a lot of warts.  One wart I am currently dealing with is my shots not being tracked - the app says shot tracking is turned off.

 

Two weeks ago I did not have a putter sensor because I had a putter with a SuperStroke counterbalanced grip - yes I know they make a sensor for that - no I am not buying it.  That caused the shot tracking to be turned off (I believe).  this week I brought a putter with a regular grip and had the sensor in it - shot tracking right?

 

Haha - no - still shot tracking turned off - message says the same thing, I need at least 8 clubs with sensors including a putter.  Well, I had 13 sensored clubs and a putter - still no tracking.  When I got home I made sure all of the sensors were paired and they were.  Arccos support has really long hours of 11am to 5p Monday through Friday and I shot them a heated question on this, but wanted to ask here to see if anyone could help me, because Arccos support tends to answer only one question if you send them a request with more than one question in there.

 

I have a Link coming whenever they get around to it - was supposed to ship in September and was delayed 4 weeks which should mean it ships today but I bet it will not.

 

Any thoughts on how to regain shot tracking?  The reason I am majorly pissed with all of this is that they have an awesome system and it seems that they have no testing and golfers feeding back issues.  In order to be really helpful this thing needs to be seamless with your playing a round of golf - when it gets in the way of your round of golf, then it is way less useful.

Wow - I guess this is going to be a solo topic 🙂  I just called Arccos and they quickly showed me that I am an idiot. 🙂  On the start a round page of the app, there are a bunch of boxes with the types of shot detection available.  One is No Shot Detection and another one is Phone.

 

So what happened is that when I did not have my putter sensor with me the app turned off shot detection - I could have turned it back on, but did not know that is what had happened.  If I turned it back on, I need to manually add in putts so the app does not get stuck on a hole waiting for me to putt.

 

So the only way to get out of the shots not being detected is to turn on shot tracking again on the round start page of the app.

 

I would still like it to say "Hey you have enough sensors do you want to turn on shot tracking or something like that.  And the print for those options is very small for aging eyes. 🙂  

 

I do stand by my other comments on Arccos having a great product with seemingly bad product testing - this example is a good case in point.  Ultimately it was my fault, but they could have helped me out.

 

Great support on the phone though!  Thank you Arccos.  They also said that Link sensors have begun shipping again, so my fingers are crossed.  If I am honest I have to say Arccos is a game changer for me - its club recommendations are awesome and have saved my butt many times - yesterday we had 20-30 mph winds and it correctly clubbed me up a few times and I hit greens there was no way I would have gotten there.

I got great response via email. My 7 wasn't paired for some reason but I used the sensor diagnostics and found the issue.

 

My last round was near perfect with only 2 missed shots and 1 pissed putt in 9 holes.

Hey ajlacombe - you may have already noticed, but in case you haven't... as long as you have the Putter sensor paired with anything... even if it isn't paired with the putter that is currently in your bag... Arccos will assume a 2-putt, which you can adjust after the round.  So if you 1-putted, you can deduct a putt... and if you 3-putted, God-forbid, you can add a putt.  

 

I sometimes play with a putter that has no sensor in it at all - such as when I'm using one with a FLATCAT grip - I just have to remember to adjust my putts after the round (which I write down on my scorecard).

Are you on iOS or Android? I haven't had any of those issues on iOS, other than maybe a shot not tracked and its usually because I have multiple clubs near me and sometimes I stand them upright which turns the sensory on.

 

Not having a putter sensor wont turn off shot tracking, something else is happening. I have used multiple rounds without my putter sensor and it still works.

 

Try and uninstall the app, reinstall and re-pair all of your clubs.

I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max - so it has 3 mics.  I have heard many people say they never miss a shot, but I have seen far more say that they have the same issues I have.  I have spoken with Arccos many many times.  As long as you turn on shot tracking as the phone or link, if you have a putter paired - you can track shots.  I have no idea how my selection for shot tracking got turned off.  I did not knowingly do that.  My issue there is why not have an option to turn on tracking by the phone in the notice that shot tracking is off?

 

Their app needs a lot of work IMO.  There are so many things they could do to make their system way better with less user interaction.  It is a great system despite all the flaws, but I wonder why all of the flaws are still there.

 

Also why is the Link delivery taking so long?  I am at 102 days so far.  I understand there are issues but why not update me more often with the status.  They told me over 4 weeks ago that my order was delayed 4 weeks - so IMO when you tell as customer your order is delayed 4 weeks, you have to either ship in that window or you have to contact them with an update in that timeframe.
