The quality is very good man…I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

 

As I said before, I wouldn’t be surprised if they manufacture Vessel bags in the same factory.

 

And the weight of the bag isn’t bad. I never carry, I use a push cart or power cart. But the weight from carrying it around to and from the car etc isn’t too bad at all.

Yeh the vessel look is what originally drew me to it in the first place. I suppose if I'm carrying I can use my stitch 🤣

Yeah, the shipping from China definitely isn’t ideal.

 

As long as you’re not in a rush though, it’s worth the wait. Awesome value, and a super well-built bag!

Just had a good read through, I thought I was bad for swapping bits out haha I also went to Cleveland rtx wedges after a fitting they just performed the best against vokeys, mg4s and ping glides 👌

Haha…yup, I’m a true addict, Lol!

 

And yeah, the RTX 6 Zipcores are fantastic!! Don’t know how they’re going to make them better for the new release, but they found a way to improve the OG Zipcores, so we’ll see. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

For sure. They’ve got some special magic sauce there at Srixon/Cleveland though.

 

Everyone said the same thing about the OG ZX5 and ZX7 irons, and they made those better too. Super underrated manufacturer in my opinion.

Just waiting on another order that’s taking forever, and in the meantime I’m trying to be the best golfer I can be.

 

Just had a big tournament this past weekend and played like trash, so now I’m licking my wounds and trying to fight the urge to flip my whole bag, Lol.

July/Aug it's a lot of comps! Before last Sunday i hadn't played a casual round in like 4-5 weeks lol

 

I played in the MTL Metropolitain last weekend, but i have a few more weeks now time to make a few changes!

Nice! Yeah, I’m not playing that many tournaments this year, so makes it extra disappointing that I played like garbage, Lol!

Eh it's just how golf goes.....It's such a frustrating sport. I worked all year to prepare for this year's events. I have 2 different 85s in tournaments this year, which are both 2 shots worse than my worst round of last year. Golf sucks sometimes. 

 

But i also have played some of my best tournament golf. In fact i have 2 of my best results ever in major Quebec events this year. 

 

Just keep getting back on that horse, mon homme.

Yeah, you’ve got a lot more Golfing experience than me.

 

I try to remind myself that I’m still new to the game since I only started playing in June 2020, so I’m only in my 3rd full season.

 

I’ve had good rounds in the 80’s this year, and some crappy ones in the 90’s.

 

Overall I’m getting better little by little though, and have a much better feel for the game and for equipment than ever before.

 

One step at a time, and going to try and enjoy the rest of the season as much as possible!!

So a couple of my WRX buddies were asking for a wellness check, Lol.

 

Here’s couple of updates on what I’ve been working on.

 

I bought a new Hzrdus Smoke Black 6.0 70g shaft to put into my Paradym X 3-Wood to match my Driver. Just took it to the range on Friday, and put it in play yesterday and it’s absolutely fantastic!! My 3-Wood should be a weapon going forward!!

 

The other update is that I’m continuing to test clubs for the Driving Iron/4-iron spot in my bag.

 

Unfortunately my attempts to use the Titleist U505 don’t usually work out too well, and I think the sweet spot might be the size of a peanut, Lol.

 

I came across these old-school long irons, and just got them extended and re-gripped to test out. They’re pretty ugly, but if they can perform and be Fairway finders, one of them could beat out the U505…we’ll see. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

 

I’m also on Week 5 of waiting for a custom order from Srixon. They used to be really fast, so this is definitely disappointing.

And the Winner of Round 1 of the Driving Iron/Long Iron battle is….. ***drumroll*** …..the Goliath Cypress 3-Iron!!!

 

What the heck is a Goliath Cypress you ask, Lol?

 

Goliath is a Canadian equipment manufacturer that I believe is no longer in the business.
 

I’m actually not that surprised, because back in 2006 for the 1 Summer I played Golf, the first Golf set that I bought was made by Goliath. And I remember the 3-Iron being one of my favourite clubs, and it was very easy to hit!

 

That’s only based off of 1 range session, but the results were pretty clear today after hitting a ton of balls with the Goliath, the Golden Bear 4-Iron, and the Titleist U505…go figure.  🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Delivery day finally came from Srixon!!

 

I decided to order custom ZX5 MK II 5-7 irons while they were still available for ordering to my specs (+1”, 1* Up with Modus3 Tour 105 S shafts).

 

Sounds like the delay was that the Modus3 Tour 105 shafts were backordered, and Srixon is now selling ZX5 MK II Irons with KBS Tour 105 shafts.

 

5.5 weeks were worth the wait though…can’t wait to put them in play this week!! 🔥🔥

Writing a milestone post to update everyone!

 

Golf is so hard, so we have to celebrate progress and checkpoints along the way!

 

Today I shot my personal best at the toughest course in my area that I play regularly…shot an 82!!

 

I know that’s not low for lots of WRX’rs, but I only started playing in June 2020, and at that course I usually shoot between 92-94…it’s a monster course!

 

My Handicap just dropped from 14.6 to 13.1 also because I also shot an 85 earlier in the week, an 86 last week, and a 72 on a short Par 60 in our area!

 

A big part of that is I feel really good about where my bag is at currently. I just switched putters this week, and it has unlocked a lot of confidence on the Greens for sure!!

 

Here’s my current setup…I feel like even lower scores are coming up very soon!! 🔥🔥

Congrats man! Big accomplishment and you should be proud. It took me years and years before I started posting scores like that. Those are real golfer numbers there 💪

 

Now be like a pro: post some PB scores and then change your swing and equipment immediately 😂

Yeah, it feels good to break through and start seeing that progress click and come together!

 

Over the last couple of months it’s all starting to come together and I’m not watching 10,000 different YouTube videos and bogging myself down with too many swing thoughts or trying to flip my whole bag.

 

Just going to keep chipping away, and keep making gradual progress! 👌🏽😎

Yeah, the RTX6 Zipcores are faaaaaantastic!! I honestly don’t know where I would go next for wedges because they are so good and so consistent!

 

I actually have tried Srixon Woods, but they weren’t a great fit for me unfortunately. The Hybrid I tried didn’t work for whatever reason (probably Lie Angle), and the Driver didn’t work either because it doesn’t have an Upright setting.

 

Wanted them to work, and love the looks of the Srixon Woods, but that’s one of the downsides of being 6’7.

 

Callaway Woods have turned out to be the best fit for me, but I’ll probably test PING at some point (since they are pretty upright), and might give TaylorMade another shot at some point.

Great playing! That is quite the accomplishment as someone quite new to the game.  

 

Love the iron set - I had been a long time Mizuno iron player but switched into the ZX5/7 MK2 combo set last year and absolutely love them. They are so good. I did 4/5 ZX5 and 6-GW ZX7.
