I just Won a family tournament with my cousins yesterday, and have a big tournament lined up for mid July, so looking forward to that! 

 

The other big news is that the Baller family will be relocating from the Toronto area to Halifax, Nova Scotia at the end of June…looking forward to discovering all the new courses on the East Coast!

 

My bag looks very stable right now and am planning to keep it pretty intact for the rest of the season…hopefully will bring home a couple more trophies with this setup! 🏆🏆 

 

Glad to hear it's working and congrats on the relocation, glad we got to play together as well even if once.

A little more winter over in Nova Scotia right? I am glad someone else is figuring out the game, I am getting better but I feel like I have miles to go. Setup is looking sexy!!! That putter cover is mean! I want one!

Golf is so hard…it’s always one step forward, two steps back. Driver was my weakness last year, and iron play was my strength…now I’m rocking with the Driver and struggling with irons, Lol!! We’ll get there, just have to keep chipping away.

 

Halifax has the occasional bad Winter storm, but the areas I’ve lived the last 7yrs have more snow and cold consistently (Montreal and Barrie). Pros and Cons with every place, but my wife and I have a ton of family and friends in Halifax, so that’s really what it’s all about.

Could absolutely be that…100%
 

My last 2 sets of irons were the Z 785 and the ZX7, so these P790’s play very differently than those for sure.

 

I’ve been chalking it up more to just having to get a feel for them, and also the ball position and setup needed for these. But they’re definitely nowhere near as forgiving as I thought they would be, and it’s definitely a struggle to break them in currently.

Tensie White is not counterbalance. But the Tensie Orange is counterbalance.

What’s up everybody! Just checking in with a Mid-season update since I haven’t been as active on WRX lately.

 

I’ve been doing a better job fighting my Club Ho urges this season and have kept the bag pretty stable so far. Making a couple of tweaks this week, but nothing major.

 

There are some clubs in my bag that have been fantastic this season, and they are looking like they could stay in the bag for multiple seasons!

 

My favourite clubs in the bag that are becoming go-to’s are:

 

-Cally Rogue ST Max Hybrid 4

-TM P790 5-iron and 6-iron

-TM MG3 56* SB and 60* LB

-Odyssey White Hot OG #7

 

Those clubs being such a good fit have made other clubs expendable, so this week I decided to drop my P790 4-iron and A-Wedge, and let go of my Scotty Special Select Newport 2.

 

By my favourite clubs list I’m sure you can tell what Gap Wedge I have on the way, and for the rest of the bag the testing for what will stick continues…TBD.

Put it straight into play today and it should be just as good as the 56* and 60* hopefully!!

New addition to test out in the 3W spot! This is my first Titleist Wood…have heard great things about the adjustability and options to get it dialed in.

 

This move obviously terrifies my Rogue Driver since I usually like my 3W and Driver to match, but we’ll see how it all works out.

Picked up a new big stick to test out yesterday and put head-to-head vs my Cally Rogue ST Max!

 

Been hitting the Rogue pretty well lately, but curious to test out the adjustability in the TSi2 and see if I can get more dialed in. Also really like the Tensei AV Blue line of shafts, so I’m excited to try it in the Titleist.

 

Also had a big breakthrough this week with my Irons situation. I’ve been struggling to get the P790’s dialed in and really just don’t hit them well consistently. So this week I tested out my buddy’s OG Titleist AP2’s and hit them beautifully right away! They were so much easier to hit for me, and so much more consistent that I decided then and there that the P790 experiment was over.

 

So new irons on the way, and more updates coming soon!

Had a similar experience with the 790s. Distances were all over the place. Recently moved into the T100 (I know completely different iron) but was really surprised at how forgiving they are.

Yeah, it's odd. The P790's should be really good in theory, and I wanted them to work so badly. But after struggling with them terribly since May, and having the experience of the AP2's feeling so incredible and being so easy to hit right away, it's just kind of a no-brainer.

 

Last season I would've given up on the P790's much sooner, but I've been trying really hard to turn over a new leaf this season, Lol!

 

At the end of the day, it's all about playing what works best for your game and makes Golf the most enjoyable...and the shots I was hitting consistently poorly with the P790's just weren't fun.

Totally agree man. Most would probably say I have no business playing T100 but hey, I love the look, feel and they are forgiving enough for me to get around the course. Most importantly I enjoy hitting them and look forward to my next around every time

 

now if I can only figure out the top end of my bag…

Yeah man, really doesn't matter what other people think you should be playing...it's all about what works best for you and what you feel good about.

 

I totally feel you on trying to figure out the top of your bag. If you look through this thread you'll see that I'm a tortured soul constantly looking for the right fit for the top of my bag also... 🙃😬
