Putter Shape and its Effects on Aim Bias

Don’t we explicitly avoid this type of self-promotion? Edel is world class for fitting and world trailing for bag retention. Lots of great info, lots of great content, lot of great testing, and product that for whatever reason, people seem not to stick with. 
 

Marketing influences most of what people play, but within the cohort of folks who choose to go Edel, the narrow few who buy into it and vote with their feet, they end up passing and going elsewhere.

 

i know a bunch of guys who would putt with a whoopie cushion if it moved their hdcp .2, and I never see Edel in the wild.

Late reply but the parallel white railway lines are the biggest design difference between these two. 
 

otherwise, the curve vs. straight isn’t as important at the pinched and narrowed back of fang opening vs. the parallel/wider one. Some people like to see a finer point in back as a reinforcement of center, whereas the straight lines with the railway is obviously preferable for others.

 

i would imagine the railway aim bias applies on the 7 in a pronounced way vs. the 5.

Depends on individual but bottom one would be more left biased for most

Interesting. I am still curious if Evnroll cam up with the curved vs straight wings for performance or was it just looks?

Haven't read through the whole thread so it may have been covered but Edel had/has a lot of data on putter characteristics and their effect on aim bias

 

"As a general rule of thumb, the more offset you add to a putter the more that putter is naturally going to aim left. Most of this is actually visual guidance rather than a physical change to the putter. This means that somebody with a tendency to push their putts will benefit from an increased amount of offset, while somebody that has a tendency to pull their putts will benefit from a decreased amount of offset."

 

Also they used to have a full chart explaining the aim bias effects of offset, shape, etc but I couldn't find it. These are the only 2 i could find

Super thread. Because if it, I changed my putter head shape last year and am putting better. 
 

I found that, in my experience, what the OP posted agreed with what I’d observed.

That chart is in stark contradiction with the op’s post.

no it isn’t.   It’s clearly stating the more rounded the back the more right aim bias and the more square the profile the more left aim bias.

I feel like that depends on what it means. Does right-aim bias mean it's more likely to be aimed to the right or more likely to look like it's aimed to the right (which would make it more likely to be aimed to the left)? That's not clear to me that everyone means the same thing when they say right aim bias (or left aim bias for that matter).

Right aim bias means it will tend to aim a player more right.  Typically a putters design along with site lines will move a player's focus to either the front or back of a putter.  Based on that, your aim can shift, creating bias.  For example, a putter with right-aim bias tends to look closed, which subconsciously makes the player aim more to the right, hence the bias.
