Evolving is fine.  It’s devolving that we’re on the look out for.   ( waves at that shark way down below ). 
 

I think  choices are fine.  But when someone chooses one choice over the current fad , that doesn’t really make them wrong.

got big and stayed flexible and absolutely hammer the ball...

 

don’t know why Bryson is not more appreciated....

 

worked for jack in the mid 60s...then his putting got so good he lost a bit of lot of weight to lessen hip and knee strain and made up for it by lag putting to an unimaginably high level...

Bryson brings a different angle to the game. Nothing wrong with hitting the ball long. Part of the game. Not all of the game just one aspect of it. Thing about Kyle I love is that he isnt this brawny gym rat looking muscle man that alot of the guys on the long drive contests look like. He is semi tall and lanky looking, BUT he hits it super duper long. Wont translate to the tour but he is on the top of the Long drive level for sure. Just fun to see guys grip in and rip it.

When Byson starts winning like Jack, I think the comparisons will be appropriate. Until then, I think not.

 

Heck, I could find three or four random people off the street who share Jack's physique - that doesn't mean they can play golf.

 

As far as the whole "get off my lawn," "grumpy old men" nonsense is concerned, you have no idea how old I am, nor how grumpy. This kind of argument is the last refuge of folks who know their position is indefensible.

 

When I say Bryson's schtick is weak, it's not because I'm old, it's because I've seen everything that he is trying to do before. His approach to the game is not revolutionary - it's merely "Daly Light." 

 

When I say his online shenanigans are played, it's because Unspeakable and an ungodly number of internet copycats already did all of this. Bubba Watson, and countless others, have done it with golf as well. As a result, it is difficult to see Bryson doing anything that is new, revolutionary, or different. He can't even sustain a hype video by himself - gotta have Kyle in there to get some street cred.

 

At the end of all of this, I'm left to conclude that Bryson wants attention. I'm then left to ask how much attention does one person really need? Seriously, the guy is a professional golfer who gets interviewed "ALL THE TIME."

 

There are more than 5 billion people in this world. Bryson is no more important than any single one of those people. This is the kind of "adult" realization that leads to humility. Bryson is apparently too stupid to realize this. Anyone that stupid doesn't deserve my attention.
