I had the z945 and they were super soft and now just got the z785 and they are soft but firm, actually like the feel better as the z945 almost were TOO soft where count always tell where I hit it on the face....played MP 18 mb in between and those felt kind of in the middle.

question is...everyone keeps saying the zx7 line is Endo forged “again”. I’m pretty sure the 45 line was as well so does that mean the 85 line wasn’t? If not, where??

As far as I know they are Endo forged.

Read a review saying the more forgiving model was clicky. Great looking irons.

They are certainly making a big deal of going back to Endo for the ZX7s. Best I can tell so far is 45s were Endo, 65s and 85s were not and now the ZX series is back to Endo. What I haven't heard specifically yet is who forged the 65s and 85s. Judging by the criticisms on feel I'm not quite sure we are ever going to hear someone own up to it.

965 felt great, better to me than the 945. A superb muscleback. I don’t really go for marshmallow soft, as some irons are described. I’m more for the Miura, Bridgestone, New Level ‘solid’ forged feel and I would say that describes the 765 and 965.

That what I was saying too. I prefer the 785 to the 945 because it’s firm yet soft where the 945 is crazy soft. So if it’s not endo then interesting why no one knows who it is??
