JT with a Ventus in the Tsi3?

Yeah hard to believe there's not a little break on Venus with Titleist. I saw that if you build a new Srixon driver the Ventus upcharge is only $200.

I agree with you.  It's like getting away with murder.  There are club builders out there that will build you a TSi w/a premium shaft like the Ventus and charge you less.  Of course there are always golfers out there willing to shell out whatever to OEMs across the board.  Supply and demand.

That shaft is too hot right now. When the AD DI was hot it was $350.  But.... I agree. Bring that down a little.

Lowered spin from 2300 to 2100, maintained the launch and picked up 3mph ball speed. Per that article

I tried very hard to love the ventus blue velocore but it goes from a very stiff tip to an very soft mid section in a hurry and that soft mid section gave me fits.  While I would hit an occasional bomb, the number of poor shots was way higher than my evenflow white (which has a lot more consistent profile throughout).  I do think the ventus black would likely give me a few extra yards compared to the evenflow white T1100.  It's on my bucket list to try out eventually but I'm in no rush as I've hit more fairways than ever before with the evenflow white.

 

 

I was in your shoes too. Initially had  the blue 6s & hated it. I hit occasional tape measure bomb with it. Could not keep the ball from hooking hard left the harder I went at the ball. Same problem with evenflow white.  I took a chance on buying a blue 6X. Had it tipped & it's a completely better shaft than the 6S. Is it any better than  HZRDUS yellow 6.0? Eh, not really. I'm relatively getting the same numbers. I'm intrigued by the ventus red though. Or maybe the kiyoshi white.

There's no proof of either of those claims.  Most all the big name reviewers have been marginally lower spin.  Compared to ts3, the tsi3 has 9 degree loft compared to 9.5.

I guess you haven’t hit it. The fact that JT switched to a more launch friendly profile says more than any of the “reviewers”

In fairness to @bogeyprohe's hit and reviewed the TSi3 and he's mentioned a couple of times it spun a little much for HIM.  Lots of people are saying lower spin for them.  Mileage varying as the saying goes.  I've hit it also and saw a spin reduction which was nice.  It's a classy looking, nice sounding driver that's going to suit a lot of people.  Not for everyone though.

I couldn't have said it better myself.  

 

I'm going to try it again with another fitter.  I just love the look and sound of it and can't get past the faster ball speeds.

He's been waffling between the Ventus Black and his trusty ole' Evo Revolution 661 made specifically for him.  In the case of Kapalua, the Ventus Black would make more sense for him IMO.  Because of the Kona winds, the course can get brutal especially during the later part of the day.  I've had balls fly backwards when I played Kapalua years ago.

Are you talking about Ventus Red or any Ventus? Titleist definitely offers Blue and Black, but they don't list Red in their custom catalogue.

I think he has the black in his fairway woods and the EVO in driver..

So DJ used to play a rombax pained with speeder paint to make it look like the new shaft....how do we know his current ventus isnt just a rombax with ventus paintjob?

Ventus Black. They took me back to their computer and showed me all of the options. Ventus wasn't anywhere to be found. I appreciate the link, but I refuse to buy anything from Peoples for personal reasons

Please trust us, it is a VENTUS Black 6-X. He is experimenting with longer length in the VENTUS compared to the speeder.
