Why are we messing with WOLFF's unique swing?

Burned out from what? He played in 21 events last season and has played in 6  this season. That’s hardly a tough go of it for a man that’s not even 22 yet. Going to be a short career for this guy if he’s “burned out”.

Don’t know, just relaying what the commentator said. I know some guys find the travelling / living out of hotels / constant media attention lifestyle a lot harder than others.

There have been a few international cricketers over the years who have found touring / life on the road so tough that they retire from their national team and just play domestic cricket. Not sure that makes them defective (JT may disagree)

Did Rory jump on a jet from the Middle East where he played last week and flew to Cali?   I respect the European guys who fly around the world for event.   That type of travel is grueling.

Yep, presume so. Travel across multiple time zones kills me, takes me a week to feel human and 2 weeks to feel 100%

Colt mentioned something yesterday about Matt showing him his hands and they were beat up from what I assume to be practicing a lot.  Perhaps trying to change something.

Sidebar:  First time hearing Colt do on course commentary yesterday.  Wasn't bad at all in my opinion for being new.  I'm not sure it's all him as I think he is playing off the verbiage of others that have gone before him...but you have to start somewhere.

Being driven in a Escalade/Limo from your five star hotel/rental, right onto the tarmac, into your Gulfstream, and the same upon arrival is NOT grueling.

I'm a 55 year old man...not in particularly good shape, have RA (mostly controlled, but still achy on occasion)...I used miles to fly to Manchester a couple years ago and used miles to fly business class...I woke up refreshed having slept flat for 6 hours, and had virtually no jet lag.  First off the plane, my bags were there minutes after arriving and my car service (had a great rate), Audi A8, whisked us to Liverpool for that afternoons Boxing Day game at Anfield.

Despite all the commotion that day, I felt incredibly relaxed and pampered.   I could see it getting boring and mundane, especially when tournaments are in dull locations (which is rare).

Cool, now do that every single week/other week for an entire season while also doing press AND playing golf for 4 consecutive days. I don't reckon your business class jaunt to Liverpool that you did once exactly qualifies you to comment on the stress of pro golf travel.

Im nearly 1/2 this guys age you replied to, and he's right, theres a couple times I've been lucky and flown private. Also flew over 200,000 miles a year, and over 100 flights a year before covid for work. The lucky times I got to go private with no airport or headache is hardly difficult at all, night and day, especially if there is a bed on the plane for them. A real bed not an airline seat used for a bed. Sorry, no sympathy, they don't have to book their travel, cars, deal with their baggage, wait at baggage claim, have some jackass coughing, and spilling into your 20" wide seat, finding hotel, finding uber, finding rental, checking into hotel, then do it all again the same or next day. None of the s*** most people that travel for work have to. And many joes that travel for work travel just as much or WAY more than a touring pro has to. I still had to perform my job well, close deals, meetings, reports, etc, traveling or not, didn't matter. If I didn't perform? I get fired..... Just like Matt Wolff will be fired from the tour if he's "burned out" already.

I dont reckon the perusing of golfwrx, or golf channel you do, qualify you to comment on how it is to travel as a touring pro? Unless youre one of those undercover tour pros who play on golfwrx. In which case, still no sympathy. lol.

Sure there are TONS of things they don't have to do which if they did would certainly make it much harder. That doesn't mean it is easy though, especially when it comes to jetlag, any performance related injuries/pain, and the obligations/demands that come with being higher profile. The stresses you describe are certainly real and much more on the mental side, so I would argue that the physical aspect of being a touring pro needs to be taken into account. I would also argue that your experience is completely different than the guy you are agreeing with that seems to think a vacation he took a few years ago qualifies him to comment. It is a burden of proof thing; if Wolff says he is burned out for whatever reason then you better have ample knowledge to somehow claim he is not, or that he is being a baby about it.

I'm not saying we need to feel any sympathy for the guy or that he is somehow a victim here, just that "yeah, non-stop travel could very easily be tiring" is a much more sane position to take than "BS, they have it easy and I had to walk uphill in the snow both ways for every flight!". 😅

One of the commentators said that Wolff was still feeling burnt out although he’d had a break. Burnt out plus injured is not a great combo, hopefully he can work through it soon.

You never know he may have some other issues going on in his life.

Hopefully not and we will see him contending again.

Matt has been coached by GG for years.  Matt works on his swing with GG constantly.  The title pretends that Matt just swings his swing and has never worked on it or something?  That couldn't be further than the truth.  Matt and GG have put in hundreds if not more hours working on his swing.  No one knows Matt's swing and what makes it work better than GG.  When Matt was playing well last year and the year before, he was also working hard with GG on his swing.

Thanks. I was just unaware that he, or anyone else was messing with his swing. And, I did not insult you in any response to your original post, and I request that you respond without insults.

poor old Matt - 20 years old, millions in the bank doing a job he loves - must be a hard life for him. I guess golfwrx pposter are happy they are not in his shoes with that sort of life. lol
