After a week off, did the first workout from Full Speed Spectrum. Can someone explain how each phase looks? Will I finally do some step drills for which I suck at.

What are you guys seeing for real speeds vs e speed or stack speed?

My espeed/stack speed has been 113-115 and on TM I can set it to 112 right now. So - its close enough for me.

I am finishing up my heavy hitter set this week and wont be redoing it. It was very repetitive and IMO just did not mix it up enough. The middle 60% of days were basically the same, 6 reps at say 165 as a warm up. 8 reps at 235, 8 reps at 235, 4 reps at 165. I made those numbers up but at was essentially what every workout was and I just didnt see any improvements.

Phase 2 has some step in it and if I remember right from the past, phase 3 had multiple step swings/weights each workout. My next one from phase 2 below:

is that max or full? I had the prgr at the range and could get it to 110 but my e-speed is 116, as high as 118

The full spectrum gives you alot of heavy ones…. IMO not sure its effecient. I would personally not build strength using stack - but solely use it for speed. Would rather do some resistance training to hit your muscles differently. Just my opinion.

Anyone utilize the full stack program, WITHOUT a launch/speed moniter? IE: just go through the reps at the correct weights and put the conscious effort in to swing as hard as you can?

If so = what were the results? Assume you took a baseline reading in trackman etc with a real driver prior, and after the program.

It utilizes AI and your results to build and make recommendations on every session and future programs. My sessions would vary from yours even though we are “ running the same program”. I don’t know how you would make that work effectively.

I just started the heavy hitter program, and my speed has been down with the 195g stick. However, it’s about 20 degrees out. Could this account for the slower swing speeds?

Yeah. Normally people are a bit slower/tighter in cold vs 70 degrees and wearing heavier clothes. I am sure it would be a contributing factor.

Anyone had injuries using stack they want to share?

Reason for asking is that I pulled my lower back during my second programme. Always do proper warm up. Been following the protocols and always been minimum 48 hours between stack sessions. Been doing some strength and mobility in parallel. Always doing strength after my stack on same days.

Injury came out of the blue during the 4th set on the stack. Suddenly a uncomfortable pain in the lower back. Took about 3-5 days before I was pain free again. Not been able to swing a club for a couple of weeks and been doing 5wk rehab with a physio. Been able to do strength and mobility during rehab work so not loosing my gains.

Don’t wanna get a new injury again and wonder what I need to do differently for it not happening again… 🤷‍♂️

Look, I think its OK to acknowledge its definitely a risk with any kind of training like this. You're putting weights on a stick and swinging them around as fast as you can, there is absolutely a non-zero chance that something  might happen over the course of hundreds or thousands of swings.

Sorry that happened. You are prob most vulnerable in the short term in terms of getting the same injury or worsening it so I’d take it easy on the speed training for a bit. I would want to be able to swing a club at full speed for month or two probably before I went back to max effort speed training.

its a marathon not a sprint, and this could be just a little speed bump or something far worse if you injure it again.  As said above if any pain would shut it down asap.

I've injured myself twice doing speed training, once with Speed Sticks and once with the Stack. Like you, I always warmed up properly and allowed at least 48 hours between sessions. In both cases, the injuries were in the mid-back region on the right (trail) side. As a result, I've decided to forgo speed training, because I was unable to play golf without pain for 4-6 weeks after the injuries.

Besides minor tweaks - I think I mentioned it a while back but I had some serious hand/joint pain last year and had to take time off for a while from Stack. I believe that was due to swinging very fast and very heavy weights to the point where it was maxing out my grip strength. After taking a break and letting stuff heal and chilling out a bit, I added in some heavy farmer walks and other grip strength exercises and have had no issues since at higher speeds.

I think it's just one of those things where when you are pushing yourself to 100% (or more) the weakest thing, part of your form, or part of your body will start to break down, and eventually need to be strengthened or addressed.

That is also my thinking. Plan is to ramp up slowly during next month. Both in terms of volume and effort.

But then we are in season again and don’t want to risk it. So might just do some simple speed training with the driver in season and pause stack until next off season.

After a week and a half off with a pulled back, was struggling till the last three swing where I crushed my PR at 195 with a wider stance. Must have been sliding.

This is exciting but also sounds more expensive. If it works it is worth 500 a year to ultimately replace instructors outside fine tuning.

I also have been dealing with some pain on top of my lead hand and knuckles that I think was caused by heavy max swings at speed hitting the limits of my grip strength.  I've added some grip training over the last couple of weeks, but I think it will take at least 6-12 weeks of dedicated work in that area to get strength up such that my grip is not a limiting factor on the speed production/training.

I've had heavy work travel over the last 3-4 weeks and only been able to get about 1 session per week with Stack and in the gym.  I was down 4-5 mph since Jan 8.  I've now gone 3 out of 5 days and gained about 3 mph back.

You guys with the 118 mph kill me!  I'm literally 30 mph behind you.  I'd fly out to see Sasho in person to get half of that.

Can you change the radar you are using mid program? I just broke my unreliable Swing Speed Radar and purchased the Yupiteru GST-7 and hope I don’t have to start over.

Worst case scenario I use this and change the length of the driver to get the accurate delta for this radar.
