Finished the progress check for my first full completed program. I can't fully wrap my head around the results. My actual dry driver swing results were faster than any using the various combination of Stack weighted swings. For example, my Stack final 95 gram swing speed was 100 on the progress report, but 103 with driver swings.

That sounds right at 95 grams. Different length vs driver.

Well… took a few days off before progress check, ate good, with solid sleep, and glad I decided to peak today. Hit my 130 goal and hit multiple no ball PR’s and on ball PR’s after the check. I have lost 15-16 lbs over the course of this program, stayed physically healthy, and ready to rock and roll into spring.

Going to try the Flex program now to focus on some coaching/mechanics, more on ball speed work, and try and maintain as much speed as possible in the season.

  • 2 weeks later...

I started Foundation program at 101, ended at 106. Took a break for season and started Full Speed Spectrum at 106 and ended at 102.  Completed Foundation at 102 and completed at 106. Started Full Speed Spectrum at 106 and ended at 102. Now app is asking to perform new baseline. It looks like all my prior sessions have been deleted. I know this program is helping a lot of people but maybe not me. I’m not sure I’ll continue.

I have 5 weeks to prepare for a big event.  I'm considering doing 2 weeks of whatever the app recommends then switching to 'flex' or 'cruiser'.  Anyone have experience/advice in this type of situation?

Or should I do flex for 3 weeks then cruiser for 2?

Question for everyone, I had started my foundation program late last year, but due to a foot injury wasn't able to do much of it. Should I completely restart the program or just continue with some re-calibrating sessions now that im healthy? Thanks.

How are you guys implementing swinging faster on the course? I've completed 2 programs now and have improved all my numbers but having trouble translating to the course. I feel like I swing with too much tension outdoors when trying to swing faster that it's actually slower than a normal swing.

this is a similar issue I've run into, after completing a few programs. for me, the speed is there for sure, but my "swing" with the stack is just not an efficient/playable golf swing. has anyone run into similar and have thoughts they'd share? like, the normal way to generate speed for me is to turn harder and more aggressively, changing my swing a bit more over the top, and completely throwing out consistency with the driver.

Superspeed has filed a complaint in federal court against The Stack alleging false advertising.

https://thegolfwire.com/superspeed-complaint-stack-system/

The Complaint is linked in the article. I would love to hear from some IP and/or business tort attorneys on the viability of the claims.  From reading the allegations, they seem a bit … tenuous?

I can only imagine that The Stack has consumed a significant portion of Superspeed’s potential customers if they are testing a legal avenue.

Full disclosure: I have used both Superspeed (briefly) and currently use The Stack. Personally, I find the adaptive aspect of the app for The Stack to be the defining characteristic that makes The Stack a better training tool.  Not to mention that The Stack seems to be continuously adding to its toolkit (Stack Putting, training videos, etc.)

EDIT: Mods, please let me know if I should post this in its own (new) thread rather than here.  Thanks.

They’re not wrong. I’ve been saying since I first started using Stack 2 1/2 years ago that everyone will see increases because regardless of the program you’re doing your gains will always eventually be max vs. full. However, it doesn’t bother me anymore because I understand and accept it. It is what it is. At best this will force Stack to compare apples to apples.

Looks like they may have a point about stack exaggerating the gains for advertising purposes.  LOL the American way!  The only way to verify speed gains would be to have a golfers average speed for a number rounds of golf before and after.  To get the average gain this method would have to take place on a significant percentage of those who use stack.  The gain may not be 24 yards as claimed.  Pretty hard for anyone to prove one way or the other.

I have room to fully commit to the sessions now in our new place so I did the baseline tonight. It lines up quite well with my fitting on trackman 103-105 and a lesson on quad where I maxed out at 108.

I haven’t really been able to pick up much in gains previously but I will stay committed and work for the next couple and see where it takes me.

Has anyone seen their technique improve doing the stack since it focuses on more than just both are swings? That is the one thing with speed training now is my technique seems to go out the window and I want to find a balance with technique and getting faster.

Weird, I think I'm the opposite - I think if anything my technique has improved over time. If you do it long enough you will find yourself hitting a ceiling where you *have* to work on your technique. You cant just wail away swinging your arms as fast as you can, the radar will prove to you that aint it LOL - or at least it did to me. So you have to try and improve things in your technique - lengthening your hand path, more hip turn, weight transfer - whatever it happens to be for you.

That’s fair. For me it got my whole body more disconnected and got my backswing way too long using the system I use with the SS protocols. I actually I have to think 50% swing on the course or else I overswing

"Could" be something similar I was running into where I was full taking away with my arms and zero turn off the start causing overrun at the top. Had to find a coach on the side and try to work on more shoulder turns and less arms. Adding in some step sequencing stuff has also seemed to help get back on track as well.

I used the SuperSpeed system with an SSR radar over the course of a few seasons.  Admittedly I never fully commit to complete all the levels.  I got through level 1 and started level 2 but never finished it.  I would go back periodically and work on level 2 sessions.  The opposite hand swings were very uncomfortable- not mechanically, but actual pain.  Probably because of imbalances in my own movement and lacking mobility/stability on the weak side.  Tennis elbow made any practice or play uncomfortable so I never stuck with it.  Saw some gains, but felt plateaued for a long time (again my lack of commitment).

The most frustrating thing was the inconsistency of the SSR unit.  That is NOT a SuperSpeed issue, its inherent in the SSR and well documented in the reviews and comments which I knew going into it.  It was adequate for a point of reference, but setting it up in the exact same spot, same direction, angles you name it was almost too much to make using it worth it.  Then there are constant mis-reads or missed swings all together.

I started the Stack program with the SSR.  For me the Stack app is much more motivating and easier to commit to.  The prompts, ability to see progress, more weight configurations just works for me.  But that SSR was still a pain.

I decided to try the Stack Radar unit.  Kind of shocked by the smaller size and how light it is (feels almost like a toy).  But its been perfectly reliable.  No missed swings is probably the biggest benefit.  It connects seamlessly with the app and the syncing of speed is awesome.  It helps me feel more involved in the swinging and less concerned with dictating the speed or manually entering it.  I've only used it for three sessions but the set up doesn't seem picky at all, I just set it about a driver length behind the "tee" and its never failed.  So if anyone is thinking about it I'd recommend it.

I also find the Stack system to be much more comfortable and pain free than the other system.  We'll see what type of gains it produces

If you have a PRGR set it behind the ball on your drives / whatever clubs you want to improve speed with. And make sure your hitting your speed numbers. Go out with that being the goal. Break through your mental barrier of "on course safe swing". Data is power.

Does anyone else find their Stack Driver eSpeed not match up to what their actual driver speed is.

My stack driver eSpeed is 105. My driver speed hitting balls is 96/98.

Right after I do my stack training i hop on to my skytrack and start hitting balls with my driver swinging as fast as i can. and my driver speed is 96/98. The best ball speed I achieved was 142.

Just wondering if that is common. anyone else find this to be the case?

I had to stop speed training because it was creating some swing problems that carried over onto the course.

I am in the same boat.  But someone has said that the eSpeed is based on certain assumptions that don’t really translate into driver speed.  For instance, that the eSpeed assumes hitting at higher altitude and other things.

My bigger problem has been that my driver speed without ball is 102 mph vs. 96 mph with ball.  There are other priming sessions that supposedly help.

But overall the program has definitely translated into more distance on the course.

Big day today; the “sound barrier” of 112 at 195g that I’ve been bumping up against for 18 months finally got broken! 113 for the set and hit 114 on two swings

Not long after this, I'm working in my garage and trip over a big cardboard box that I didn't see. Worst "old man" fall I've had to date; just not able to recover the situation like a younger, more athletic version of myself would have. Managed not to smash my face on the ground but at the cost of a badly sprained neck.

Just when I break the plateau...forced to go backward again. Getting old sucks.
