Should I switch?

I saw a used set of Ping i3 blade's in my local shop today at a good price. I hit them into the net a few times and I like the way they setup at address.

I game the Cobra Forged SS.

Simply which set do you guys prefer? Any advantages to switching to the i3 blade that I might consider? Anyone gaming i3 blades that loves them?

I like the SS set I have, no real complaints here or there other than the shafts are a little too weak. The i3's have just always caught my eye ever since they came out several years ago.

I haven't played cast irons in a long time, so i'm wondering why I love the Ping i3's so much, especially since I think Ping's offerings are usually pretty ugly.

Is the i3 blade the best set of Ping irons in the last 10 years? I don't know too much about them. Frankly, I dont know too much about my SS Forged, other than I got them cheap, and they feel pretty good.

Just random musings, any help is greatly appreciated.

I've got a set of I3+ blades that I am very happy with - not sure if there is a big difference between the I3 and I3+. These replaced a set of Mizuno T-Zoid Pros and I did not notice a significant loss of feel but gained greater forgiveness while retaining the ability to work the ball.

For what it is worth, I was in a local store recently checking out the i10's, when I told the salesman what I am currently playing he said "stick with the I3+ blades, best Ping iron over the last several years". How often does that happen?

I picked up a set with the Ping Tour gap wedge about 18 months ago. I'm usually switching clubs several times a year which isn't realy helpful to my game but despite trying much newer clubs I haven't felt anything does the job better for me. And they seem to be indestructable as well. Nothing seems to mark them which is an added bonus.

I got the lofts and lies of mine checked for me by my teaching pro and he adjusted them afterwards. This is well worth the minimal cost and has given me much greater consistency.

I love my I3 +, they knocked my EYE 2 + no + out of the bag. You can't get a better club in my opinion, especially for the price. I think this model is an overlooked gem.

Personally I liked the S59's as good as any iron Ping made. I play Callaway X Forged now, but I had a set of Ping S59's with DGX shafts and the tour black wedges to match. This may be a good set up for you. I think you want to get the Ping wedges to match, though. Ping kinda has their own look and feel. I started out using those irons with Cleveland wedges I already had and I had a hard time adjusting to the optics.
