MP-600 and Mizuno staffers

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if the Mizuno staffers are switching?
I just purchased a MP-600 w/ 757SpeederX. I have heard nothing but great things about it and this will be my first time using a Mizuno driver. I know on the tour it is common place for the Mizuno staffers to use other brand drivers. I was wondering if anyone has heard if the Mizuno's players are making the switch to the MP-600? Just wanting some tour scoop on my recent purchase.

The local rep said guys are liking theirs. I'm assuming that there are some switches made. It is a really solid head, I just hate that stock shaft.

I am hitting mine Sat for a 36 hole golf binge. I previously hit a Taylormade TP 8.5 superquad 1st edition with the Rombax X shaft. I will be interested to see how my new driver will stack up. I'll let you guys know Sunday or Monday on how it hits. I have two buddies that are using the MP-600 with the Diamana. That seems to be a popular choice based on Ebay and other sources. I have only tried a Diamana shaft once. It was Ok, I just like the lower torque on the Fujikura 757.

Apparently, a lot of Mizuno-contracted pros on the European Tour have been enthusiastic about the driver and are playing the club - the first time in years that Mizuno have had a viable driver that has gained a lot of good feedback from Pros.

There were apparently problems supplying enough heads to the workshop last year, but many players were keen to test the club and, based on the results, there may be many in play this season.

It is gaining seriously good reviews in the UK. It will hurt Titleist and Taylor Made at the better player end of the market if they can keep up with demand. I have waited 6 weeks for mine to arrive.

As for pros I know Vanscik uses one and he is the longest in Europe on a good day.
It is about time Mizuno had a serious driver in the range, too long have they concentrated on irons and high end woods for rich Japs.

The screws don't come loose if they are screwed down correctly. I have changed the screws on our Demo many many times and not had a problem. Our Rep was in the other day and told me the screws on the 600 he uses to show his accounts became stripped after being chaged hundreds of times and he just put a new one in and it was perfect. If that happen to yours you just call Mizuno customer service and they will send you new screws or a wrench if you loose it. And by the way I love mine it's the best driver I have used.
Hope this helps

I have a review of the driver being prepared for Bag Chatter. Should be up here soon.

As far as the screws went, I had no problems with mine. From what I read you need to make sure they are lined up correctly, if they are off then you will not get a solid tightening and they will work loose. They best part is that they will not come out, so there is no worry of loosing them.

Keep an eye out for the review....great driver by the way!!!!

I took mine out Sat and hit it. It is a great driver and very solid w/ 757 Speeder X. I hit it by my old driver and I was extremely happy with the ones I didn't hit so well. It was a straight hitting club. Now that could be have something to do with the shaft and head combo, but it was very straight. The driver also had a very consistent trajectory. Mine is an 8.5 degree and I would describe my trajectory as a mid-trajectory (normal trajectory throughout by bag) typically with most drivers I put in play with similar lofts. I would highly recommend the club and the club-shaft combo that I have to anyone searching for a driver.

I had it set on neutral and did not tinker with the weights because I didn't want to mess with a good thing. It feels very solid off the club and had zero vibration (I am sure the Speeder didn't hurt this any).

If you have any specific questions just let me know and thanks for all the input on my original post. Look forward to hearing from you guys!

Took mine our for its first round on Sat. It is shafted with an EPIC x, and is set to 1-6, neutral with low spin. This is the best feeling driver of anything I have played in ages - nice muted sound too. So the aesthetics are top notch. As for performance - well when matched with the Pro V1x this thing is really long. I hit it to places on my home course fairways that I haven't been in years. The course is wet and so there is zero roll, and it was a good bit longer than my Sumo with roll!!!

Nice to be hitting irons into par-5's again. All I can say is that this driver is pretty to look at, and works! WELL DONE MIZUNO.....

I was one of the guys who complained about this, but it was operator (me) error...I hadn't lined the screws up properly. No loosening for me in a while now. So I wouldn't worry about it.
