Bubba going with an untucked shirt - I like it

I don't know if this was just accidental, or he's doing it intentionally, but Bubba is sporting the untucked look currently at the WGC tournament.

 

I like it.

I enjoy the traditions of golf, but I think the dress code we hold ourselves to is a bit outdated. I’m all for it becoming more and more relaxed. It will help the game have a broader appeal.

We’ve come so far from the days of button-ups and ties. Now it’s just polos and comfy slacks. I think the standard is as low as it could be. Any lower and we’ll see shorts and t-shirts on tour. 
I think pro golfers should be held to a higher standard, including the appropriate outfit, especially since the sport is still considered a gentlemen/women sport.

I’ve seen JT, Spieth, and many pros play barefoot and shirtless in their leisure rounds, and I have no problem with that. But when u play on tour in front of an audience, it’s a respectable thing to dress appropriately. Is it really too much to ask someone to tuck in his polo?

It's cheap plastic material made in Shenzhen then shipped to cutting and assembly plants throughout Asia designed for no other reason than to reduce the material cost to under $1. "Performance fiber" is marketing nonsense.

I have no problem with an untucked shirt as long as it was designed to be untucked.  Some shirts look sloppy, some look stylish this way. Just don’t look sloppy if you are a pro and getting paid to play.

Just for the sake of conversation, who decided what the appropriate attire is, and what’s acceptable and not? Just rules based off of tradition?
 

Personally, I think the dress code  for attire in a club house or pro shop should be a bit more formal. I’d have no issues with the guys on tv wearing shorts. It’s hot out there, there’s no reason for them to be forced into wearing pants while walking 5 miles. I wouldn’t respect their abilities any less if they had shorts and a T-shirt on. I just ordered some of the Nike blade collar polos and they arrived today, and I honestly don’t see myself wearing any traditional collar polos once the weather is hot and humid here.

You are right that "appropriate attire" is more of a tradition. Some traditions become obsolete over time, but I truly believe that certain traditions are worth keeping, i.e. keeping your shirt tucked in during a televised tour level competition. 

If u read my comment, u'd see that I really don't care what people wear on the course. 

All I'm trying to convey is that when it comes to the PROS on tour, I don't think it's a lot to ask for slacks and tucked in shirts. They are athletes, but also entertainers and role models. They just look more professional and presentable that way. I know it's hot out there, but the sport apparel technologies have come so far to ensure that the players are comfortable wearing what they wear.
